Pedro Pascal would like to star in Face/Off 2 with Nicolas Cage. The Chilean-American actor first rose to prominence for his roles as Oberyn Martell on the fourth season of Games of Thrones and as Javier Peña on Narcos. Pascal also plays the titular character in The Mandalorian, recently reprising the role for The Book of Boba Fett. Riding off his television success, Pascal has also starred in a few feature films, most notably as the villain Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman 1984.

Pascal's most recent film is meta-comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, which stars Nicolas Cage as a fictionalized version of himself. Pascal plays a billionaire and Cage super-fan who offers the actor $1 million to attend his birthday party. Cage begrudgingly accepts the offer and attends, but when things take a wild turn, he is forced to become a version of some of his most iconic characters to save the day. One of those characters is the homicidal sociopath Castor Troy from the 1997 film Face/Off, to which Godzilla vs. Kong director Adam Wingard is currently developing a direct sequel.

In an interview with GQ promoting The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, which releases in theaters on April 22, Pascal was asked if he would like to star in Face/Off 2, in which Cage looks likely to be involved. Pascal answered very straightforwardly, saying he would love to be a part of the potential sequel. Read his full answer below:

Yes. Yes I would. [Laughs.] I mean, really just a straightforward answer. Yes. I rattle off so many movies that were from the ‘80s, before I graduated high school, so the impression that they left on me obviously was so big. But then of course, once you get into the ‘90s and Leaving Las Vegas and then into Face/Off, it’s a whole other level of admiration. All of that is to say yes: I would like to be a part of Face/Off 2.

Face/Off 2 is still in early development and does not have any stars attached to it yet. Its status as a direct sequel all but necessitates the return of its original stars, especially Cage. It's unknown if he has been asked to return, though Cage recently expressed his interest in Face/Off 2 during a Reddit AMA. Castor Troy was seemingly killed at the end of the first film, though its face transplant technology would easily allow for his face to be grafted onto another character.

Pascal and Cage developed a close rapport as frequent scene partners during the making of their latest film, which is garnering rave reviews, so it could be advantageous for Face/Off 2 to get them back together. Both actors have busy schedules, as Cage is currently filming the Renfield movie as Dracula and Pascal's The Last of Us series remains in production for HBO (which will last into the foreseeable future). If Cage is able to return for Face/Off 2, a reunion with Pascal could be in the cards and if the trailers for their latest film are any indication, the chemistry between the two could certainly propel a sequel to the iconic action hit.
