The newest iteration of the long-lasting series of Formula 1 games, F1 22 is here and brings with it many challenging tracks, such as the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez circuit in the Mexican Grand Prix. Being the fifteenth entry in the decades-old racing game series, F1 22 brings the renowned motorsport to next-gen consoles and PCs while offering an incredibly stunning visual experience. Since the release of Netflix’s Drive to Survive series, the world of Formula 1 has seen incredible growth in popularity, creating many new fans for this motorsport. With the release of F1 22, those fans, as well as old ones, will have the opportunity to play as their favorite driver in the 2022 World Championship or even create their own in the game's Career Mode.

The Formula 1 World Championship emerged with new technical regulations in 2022, something that is reflected in F1 22 as it features brand new card models and updated physics that will severely impact the process of setting up a car. Also added in F1 22 are the fan-favorite Sprint Races, which occur after qualifying and determine the starting grid for the main race of the Grand Prix. Lastly, several classic tracks now have new layouts, and a new one has been added, the F1 Miami Grand Prix.

Winning races in Formula 1 is as much about the driver as it is about the car setup, as every track presents unique challenges that will need to be overcome by the team as a whole. Downforce, for example, is one of the most important aspects of a car setup, as having a high downforce is very beneficial in slow corners but very detrimental in long straights, as it makes it vulnerable to overtakes with DRS in F1 22. Analyzing a track and setting up a car accordingly is one of the most intricate and interesting challenges about F1 22 and something players will need to master if they wish to become world champions.

F1 22: The Best Car Setup for Mexico City Race

F1 22 Mexico Grand Prix Circuit Car Setup Track

The Mexican Grand Prix’s circuit can be extremely challenging to set up a car for, as it is comprised of several very distinct sectors. The first section of the track sports long straights, which offer the best chance for overtakes and therefore require low downforce values in order to reduce drag. However, the rest of the track is comprised of a wide mix of corners, something that players will encounter much of in F1 22's Career Mode, which benefits from a high downforce to increase traction and good rear wing stability. This will require players to carefully consider a middle ground in order to stay competitive in long straights without losing too much time during the corner sections.

As with any race, players must also prepare themselves for the possibility of rain, as having the wrong setup in wet conditions can quickly make the car undrivable and risk not finishing the race. There usually isn’t a high likelihood of rain in the Mexican Grand Prix, however, it is important for players to have a backup plan and practice under these conditions in F1 22 in order to be successful throughout the season. With all of these possibilities in mind, these are the recommended setups for the Mexico City circuit according to Outsider Gaming:
