Ezra Miller is not under investigation over choke slamming a woman. The actor has been at the center of a controversy after he was caught on tape in an altercation with an unknown lady. The clip has been floating online for a couple of days now garnering more attention from the public, but it appears that Miller won't be fighting any criminal charges because of his actions - at least for now.

Known for his roles as Credence Barebone in the Harry Potter prequel spinoff series, Fantastic Beasts and Barry Allen/The Flash in the DCEU, Miller was caught on a short video physically assaulting a woman. The incident appears to have started as a joke when the actor took it too seriously. Shortly after asking her if she wanted to fight, he went for the woman's neck, slammed her on what appears to be a wagon behind her, and then subsequently took her down on the ground. According to reports, it took place on April 1, 2020, 6pm at Prikið Kaffihús, a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland. Despite this, there are no charges made against the actor.

The Wrap reports that there hasn't been any formal charges filed against Miller with regard to the incident. Reykjavik Metropolitan Police spokesperson Gunnar Rúnar Sveinbjörnsson said that "no one was arrested or placed in custody regarding this." Based on the recollection of an eyewitness, shortly after the fight broke out, a frustrated Miller was escorted out of the pub's premises, which is when he supposedly spat on a bartender and another bystander. Screen Rant has reached out to the actor's representatives for any comments about this incident, but they have yet to comment as the time of writing.

It's curious if the reason why there's no charges is that Miller's people handled this quietly so as not to create a bigger story, or the woman involved doesn't really have any intentions of suing him. After all, the altercation supposedly came about when an over-eager group of fans started confronting him, so it's not like Miller just went out of his way to terrorize them. That said, there's also a big difference between getting annoyed and physically assaulting someone. So, while no one's pressing charges, that doesn't mean that it won't change moving forward.

With Ezra Miller's camp quiet about this issue and Warner Bros. still not addressing it, fans are on the look out if this will affect the actor's projects on the pipeline. He's set to reprise Credence in the third Fantastic Beasts movie. Meanwhile, the long-delayed The Flash standalone finally has feasible release date with production supposedly starting if it weren't for the coronavirus pandemic which has essentially shut down Hollywood.
