Actor Ezra Miller was caught on tape choking and taking down a fan - here's what is known about the altercation. After breaking through with roles in We Need To Talk About Kevin and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Miller has since made the move into blockbusters, playing Credence Barebone in the Fantastic Beasts franchise, and The Flash in the DCEU. A video of the actor appearing to assault a mysterious woman is currently making the rounds online, raising questions regarding what led to incident and what really happened.

The controversial video of Miller choking a fan first appeared on social media sites early April 6, 2020. Clocking in at just five seconds, it began with Miller talking to an unknown woman outside a pub. At first, the lady seemed to be joking around, making silly moves as she moved closer to the actor. Miller can be heard asking "did you want to fight?" and simultaneously going for the woman's neck, slamming her on what appears to be a wagon behind her, and then subsequently taking her down. Everything happened so quickly that when the lady got off-balanced on her way to the ground, the people taking the video started shuffling while some of the boys can be heard calling Miller "bro" in concerned voices, as if asking him to stop.

According to a report from Variety, the altercation took place on April 1, 2020, 6pm at Prikið Kaffihús, a bar in Reykjavik, Iceland. Based on the the graffiti-covered walls in the background, it appears that the fight happened at the back entrance of said pub. An eyewitness revealed that it all started when the actor was confronted by some over-eager fans, which included the woman in the video. Miller started to lose his temper particularly at the said lady and the next thing they knew, the incident already broke out. The actor, who was upset with what happened, was then escorted off the premises of the bar, which he typically visits when he's in town.

Meanwhile, a separate recollection of the incident is also floating around on social media sites. It's from from Twitter user kylie lampe, who is supposedly the original source of the video. Her post is, however, no longer online, as well as her profile, but some fans were able to get a screenshot of her upload, giving us her side of things. According to her post, she's friends with the woman on video and was with her when this all went down. She confirmed that her friend "JOKINGLY challenged him to a fight" but he took it too seriously and "choke slammed her to the ground." The boys then pulled Miller from the woman but the actor proceeded to spit on lampe's brother and the pub's bartender.

Both accounts of the incident agree on the pertinent details of the altercation, although it's worth noting that Ezra Miller has yet to come out with an official statement regarding this issue. Screen Rant has reached his representatives for any comments but they haven't responded yet at the time of writing.
