In a funny new video, Chris Hemsworth goofs around between scenes on the set of Extraction 2. Releasing in 2020, Extraction introduced audiences around the world to Tyler Rake (Hemsworth), a highly trained mercenary tasked with recovering the kidnapped son of an international crime lord. The film proved incredibly popular with viewers and currently sits high on the list of Netflix's most-watched original movies of all time.
Although Rake's fate is left up in the air at the end of the film, with the character having fallen into a river after being shot in the neck, Netflix officially announced last fall that Extraction 2 is in the works, with Hemsworth returning. Few details are known about the film so far, but a promotional image released in December shows Rake clutching onto the side of a moving vehicle in a very snowy locale. Production on Extraction 2 is confirmed to be taking place in Prague, trading the hot and sweaty Bangladesh environment of the first film for something decidedly chillier.
In a new video posted to his Instagram, Hemsworth goofs around between scenes and shows off the beautiful "serenity" of the winter landscape around him as a digger loudly fills a trailer with dirt behind him. "Just took a break from the madness of shooting Extraction 2 to allow myself to be truly present in the natural world, no distractions just serene calm and beauty," the actor sarcastically captions the video. In the clip itself, Hemsworth jokes there's "not an unnatural sight or sound in sight," as the digger beeps loudly behind him. Check out the full video below:

Although the Extraction sequel is sure to be as violent and as graphic as the first, Hemsworth and the crew are clearly keeping things light behind the scenes. It's not clear what exactly the digger is setting up behind Hemsworth in the video, but Extraction 2 is already shaping up to feel very different from the first film, at least in terms of setting. The first Extraction movie featured bustling city streets and chaotic close-quarters fights, whereas, at least from the official image and this new behind-the-scenes video, Extraction 2 seems to be opening things up a little bit.
As demonstrated in the Instagram video, and with his more recent turns as Thor in the MCU, Hemsworth clearly has a comedic side as an actor in addition to his renowned intense physicality. Extraction 2 has yet to be given an official release date but, given that filming has now been ongoing on for several months, a release date sometime in the second half of 2022 seems likely. It remains to be seen whether Extraction 2 will feature Hemsworth's comedic talent in any capacity but, in the meantime, the actor will hopefully continue to post funny behind-the-scenes videos between takes.
