SR Pick [Video]: 'The Expendables: Call To Arms' Trailer

The Expendables movie

Those that were mercilessly forced against their will into seeing Eclipse - or those lured to see it under the pretense that it was an action-packed vampire vs. werewolf romp and not, well, just another Twilight movie - will have the chance to get their revenge when The Expendables arrives this August.

Between stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Mickey Rourke, and Steve Austin, The Expendables will be crammed full with more brawny ego and steroid-enhanced muscle than your average Mr. Olympia Bodybuilding Contest.

Add several tons of practical FX and a Bruce Willis/Arnold Schwarzenegger cameo - along with more one-liners than either of those two could handle on their own - and you have what many moviegoers hope will be the end-all of action movie throwback flicks.

But will that be enough to get the explosion-loving fanboys off their laptops and into their local multiplex?  Could the Oprah-approved Eat, Pray, Love dominate The Expendables during its opening weekend?  Could no-holds-barred action blockbusters become a thing of the past?

Well, apparently some bloke with a Youtube account is worried that might be the case, so he assembled a "Call to Arms" trailer for The Expendables (which you can check out below) as a means of uniting the action-adoring masses in the face of financially successful chick flicks.

(NOTE: There is a bit of NSFW text at the end of this video so be careful who's standing over your shoulder when you watch it).

All jokes aside, this is a surprisingly entertaining trailer remix.  The rocking music soundtrack is fitting and the clip as a whole is well edited and put together; it even strikes the right kind of humorous tone to remind those who are watching not to take it too seriously - or seriously at all, for that matter.

Besides, how many of you ever thought you would see Jason Statham riding a jet and Kristen Stewart pouting out in the woods in the same video? ;-)

The Expendables will explode into regular theaters in the U.S. on August 13th, 2010.
