Sylvester Stallone shared a video where he revs up a motorcycle on the set of The Expendables 4. The first movie, The Expendables, was released in 2010 and paid homage to '80s and '90s action films by bringing back some of the era's biggest stars. Directed by Dave Callahan and written by Stallone, The Expendables starred Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren, who had previously starred opposite Stallone in Rocky IV. The ensemble cast also included some of the current action movie titans, such as Jason Statham.

The film was a huge success worldwide and earned nearly $275 million in revenue, spearheading the release of two additional films in subsequent years: The Expendables 2 and The Expendables 3. The two films, released in 2012 and 2014, garnered about $530 million worldwide and brought back to the big screen big action movie legends such as Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Many of the franchises' stars are returning in The Expendables 4, set to be released in 2022.

On his Instagram, Stallone released a video of himself revving up a motorcycle on the set of the franchise's fourth installment. In the video, Stallone is dressed in casual clothes, wearing dark sunglasses, and smoking a cigar as he sits on the motorcycle. In addition to the video, the Academy Award-winning actor shared three additional photos from the set. One of the photos is of Stallone and co-star Statham holding scripts and dressed in the iconic Expendables berets and black combat outfits. The other photo shows Lundgren, now with long hair, sharing a smile with Stallone on set. Check out the Instagram post below:

Behind-the-scenes videos and photos shared by the cast have been slowly trickling in since The Expendables 4 started shooting in London earlier this month. The plot for the new film is still under wraps, and many of the characters are unknown. However, in addition to Statham and Lundgren, the film will bring back Randy Couture and include new stars such as Transformers veteran Megan Fox, rapper/actor Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, and actor Andy Garcia.

It's no secret that The Expendables 4 is a long-awaited sequel by fans, who by the time the film comes out will have had to wait eight years to see their favorite action movie stars complete exciting and action-packed missions on screen. The buzz already exists on its own; however, the act of sharing behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the set is a sure way to maintain that excitement. It'll probably be a few more months before fans can see a trailer and finally learn the film's plot, but until then, they can enjoy the behind-the-scenes sneak peeks shared by the actors.
