Sylvester Stallone has shared a behind-the-scenes video of the cast from The Expendables 3. The Expendables franchise began in 2010. The first movie introduces a team of mercenaries on their mission to overthrow a dictator, though they soon learn the situation is more complicated than that. The Expendables starred Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, and more. Many of the actors featured in the 2010 film opted to return for two sequels. The Expendables 2 released in 2012, with The Expendables 3 coming soon after in 2014.

Despite mixed critical reception, the franchise is considered a box office success. The Expendables 4 has been in development since 2014 but has faced significant roadblocks. Stallone even left the project for awhile over creative differences, leaving the future of the franchise up in the air for a time. Luckily, Stallone eventually announced his intention to return. Still, there have been few substantial updates on the movie in the last few years. Star Randy Couture changed that in early April, indicating The Expendable 4 could begin shooting either this fall or next. Couture also revealed he hasn't seen a script yet, meaning he wasn't able to tease any plot details.

As audiences wait for the upcoming sequel, Stallone is helping to tide them over with a behind-the-scenes cast video from The Expendables 3. In it, many of the film's stars are shown gathered together, including Schwarzenegger and Statham. Check out Stallone's vide below:

Stallone's "Miss these guys..." caption is nice to see, as it suggests he's eager to get to work on The Expendables 4. With such a long wait between the most recent film and the next entry in the franchise, Stallone's video is a nice distraction. It also serves as a good reminder of the cast's chemistry, which is evident in all of the Expendables movies.

Stallone's post should only increase anticipation for The Expendables 4. Though few details about the movie are known as of now, it's likely more will come to light once filming begins. If that does in fact happen in the fall of 2021, that could mean information sooner rather than later. It's worth noting COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on many production plans, so fall of 2022 may be a more realistic window. Regardless of when The Expendables 4 begins production, it will be exciting to see what Stallone and the others involved in the franchise cook up for the new movie. Hopefully, the Expendables 3 sequel winds up being worth the wait.
