Stout Club Entertainment is teaming up with ComiXology Originals for a brand new horror-thriller series, Hailstone. The five-issue limited series will focus on the small town of Hailstone and the mysterious disappearance of its townspeople, including a young girl whose own absence will lead a local sheriff and his deputy down a dark path. The comic will be written by Rafael Scavone and drawn by Rafael de Latorre.

Rafael Scavone is part of the creative group Stout Club Entertainment, alongside Eduardo Mederios, Mateus Satnolouco, Rafael Albequerque. Stout Club has released a number of comic book titles across different publishers, including Eight at Dark Horse ComicsOpen Bar at Panini Comics, and Mondo Urbano at Oni Press. Scavone has an extensive comic background including writing All-Star Batman, Wonder-Woman, and Hit-Girl. Among de Latorre's most work includes Marvel's Black WidowAnimosity for AfterShock Comics, and he will draw the upcoming Heroes RebornPeter Parker, The Amazing Shutterbug alongside Marc Bernardin. The comic will feature colors by Wesllei Manoel, letters from Bernardo Brice, and will be edited by Bis Stringer Horne.

Scavone describes Hailstone as a mystery with plenty of Western-style action, while having a mix of historical, horror, and supernatural elements, calling the book "weird- fiction." When Sherriff Denton Ross and his deputy Tobias talk to the mother about the disappearance of her daughter, they notice the similarities of the case with more than five other ones already that winter. Ross notes that everybody in Hailstone has lost someone the same way.

Hailstone joins other ComiXology Originals such as Snow Angels by Jeff Lemire and Jock, the Youth series from Curt Pires, Alex Diotto, Dee Cunliffe and Micha Myers, as well as the Eisner nominated Afterlift by Jason Loo, Chip Zdarsky, Paris Alleyne, Aditya Bidikar, and Allison O'Toole. The series will be part of ComiXology's exclusive comic content available to subscribers of Kindle Unlimited, ComiXology Unlimited, and Amazon Prime. Hailstone will also be available for purchase directly from Amazon and ComiXology.

Hailstone from Stout Club Entertainment and ComiXology by Rafael Scavone, Rafael de Latorre, Wesllei Manoel, Bernardo Brice, and Bis Stringer Horne will release May 11, with a new chapter in the five-issue series coming out monthly.
