The Excalibur is one of the legendary swords available in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Here's where players can find it. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is the new major entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise. Prior to 2018, Ubisoft would release a new game in the series every year. In the mid-2010s, fans began to feel the burnout of releasing a new entry of the series, as new titles were riddled with glitches and game-breaking bugs. From this, Ubisoft began to release new mainline titles bi-yearly, giving their teams time to work out any bugs and spend time developing the game to make it the best it could possibly be. It has been 2 years since the release of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, the last mainline title of the series. The Excalibur is one of the best weapons in the game and also one of the hardest. Here's how players can collect it.

Before the player is able to find the Excalibur blade, they will first need to find 11 tablets hidden around the world. Players will need to complete 11 different challenges to obtain them all to be deemed worthy enough for the blade. 8 of them require players to find them deep within a cave while the final 3 require the player to defeat Zealots. Here's where players can find all 11 tablets.

  • Grime’s Grave: Located in East Anglia
  • Old Cellar: Located in Essexe
  • Cavern of Trials: Located in Cent
  • Santlache Mine: Located in Suthsexe
  • Red Lichen Cavern: Located in Hamtunscire
  • Wocig: Located in Hamtunscire
  • Wican’s Cave: Located in Eurvicscire
  • Deoraby Spar Cavern: Located in Snotinghamscire
  • Hrothar (Zealot): Located in Suthsexe wandering out in the fields on horseback.
  • Woden (Zealot): Located in Cent wandering out in the fields on horseback.
  • Heike (Zealot): Located in Essexe wandering out in the fields on horseback.

After the player has collected all of the tablets, here's where they can find Excalibur.

Once the player has obtained all 11 tablets, head over to Myrddin's Cave in Hamtunscire. The player will need to navigate deep into the cave before finding a place where they can jump into a body of water. Swim down into the water until you find an opening to another room. Here, the player will find stones in various formations and the Excalibur blade will glow. Players can now wield this legendary weapon going forward by pulling it out of the stone.

While Assassin's Creed has been deeply rooted in science fiction and historical fiction, there's plenty of mythological points in the game that makes it stand out on its own. Tackling the importance of Gods and featuring legendary weapons from Norse mythology makes this title more unique than the others. While each title has its own identity, this is the first to take the big leap into fantasy. It will be interesting how to series continues to change from here.
