DJ, writer, and actor Tarso Brant will become the first trans male contestant to compete on the celebrity edition of Ex On The Beach Brazil. Tarso has become a notable figure in Brazilian pop culture during the last few years. As a vocal advocate for trans rights and trans visibility in the media, Tarso gained national attention when he was hired to assist author Glória Perez in the creation of a trans character for the Brazilian soap opera A Força Do Querer in 2017. He went on to make an appearance as himself on A Força Do Querer, and was then hired as an actor for the 2019 soap opera Verão 90.

In 2017, Tarso Brant co-authored the biographical book Vidas Trans along with Amara Moira, João W. Nery, and Márcia Rocha. The book was based on each of these authors' stories growing up as trans individuals and fighting against societal prejudices. Considering his extensive resume, Tarso has been a very popular person on social media as well. As of this writing, Tarso has 700,000 followers on Instagram, and some of the videos featuring him on YouTube have hundreds of thousands of views. Now, MTV has hand-picked Tarso for season 2 of the celebrity edition of Ex On The Beach Brazil.

Tarso Brant is joining the cast of Ex On The Beach Celebs as the first-ever trans man to star on the Brazilian edition of the show. Fans of the American edition will remember Trenton Clark from Ex On Beach: Peak of Love, who came into the season as one of Adore Delano's exes. However, it is noteworthy that Tarso has been cast as an actual contestant who'll face his own exes on the show. It is also significant that this celebrity edition of Ex On The Beach Brazil is featuring a total of four LGBTQIA+ contestants. Besides Tarso, the season also features gay men Matheus Pasquarelli and Rico Melquíades, as well as bisexual woman - and The Circle Brazil alum - Marina Gregory.

Setting aside the historic nature of casting a trans male contestant on Ex On The Beach, Tarso Brant will be coming into the show as a 28-year-old man with a huge online following and a long career as a media personality. The fans are very excited to watch his journey on this season, which premieres on Thursday, April 8, 2021 on MTV Brazil.

This is yet another historic casting choice for MTV's Ex On The Beach, a series that has been known for having very diverse casts over the years. Hopefully, Tarso will be able to share his story with even more people in 2021.
