The best beginner Survivors to start with in Evil Dead: The Game will help players become familiar with the game's mechanics and roles. There are four classes of Survivors to choose from in the game, namely Hunters, Leaders, Support, and Warriors. Each class has a couple of characters within, and their active and passive abilities affect their ease of use.

One quality feature of Evil Dead: The Game is the builds players can create to suit their playstyles. Not every perk can be selected as players level up, so they'll need to decide which perks are worth investing skill points in. Some perks may be missed out on before players respec their Survivor, but fortunately, the best characters for beginners have a variety of perks that suit easy-to-use playstyles.

Cheryl Williams and Army of Darkness Ash are the two survivors that everyone should play as first Evil Dead: The Game. Cheryl Williams is arguably the best Support Survivor in the game, while Army of Darkness Ash is part of the Warrior class, and is possibly the best character in the game overall. At the core of their gameplay, Cheryl and Armory of Darkness Ash are easier to play as in Evil Dead: The Game over every playable character because their abilities are easy to use and master. Additionally, they have a number of potential builds that work well with various teams and can give the demons a run for their money.

Why Cheryl & Warrior Ash Are Perfect Survivors To Start With In Evil Dead: The Game

Of the two, Cheryl may actually be the easiest character to play in Evil Dead: The Game because of her ability to heal herself and her teammates with the Healing Touch active ability. Once activated, a small area is created that restores health to Cheryl and her allies. As players level her up, Cheryl also gains three passive abilities called Cola Coaster, Contact Courage, and Contact Healing. As players level up all Evil Dead: The Game Survivors, they gain passive skills that can be unlocked at levels five, 10, and 25. Cola Coaster allows players to start the match with an extra can of Shemp's Cola and allows her to hold more at once. With both Contact Courage, Cheryl's fear and the fear of her nearby allies are lowered after drinking a can of Shemp's Cola. A similar benefit applies to Contact Healing, but with recovered health.

Army of Darkness Ash is possibly the best character in the game for a couple of reasons, but he's easy to use because of his abilities as well. As a Warrior Class character, this version of Ash has perks and skills available to him that support a tank or juggernaut playstyle. His active ability is called Wiseman's Potion, and it grants increased health, fear reduction, and increased damage dealt against enemies whenever used by Warrior Ash in Evil Dead: The Game. His passive abilities are called Shield Blast, Finish Strong, and Weapon Master: Chainsaw. With Shield Blast, every time Warrior Ash loses a shield bar an explosion is triggered dealing damage to nearby enemies. Finish Strong allows some of his shield bar to be restored whenever players perform a finisher, and Weapon Master: Chainsaw increases the attack speed, damage to health, damage to balance bar, and dismemberment damage to all demons.
