Season 23 is slowly coming up for Diablo 3, which means there will be some significant changes to the game and a lot of new features getting added. There is no stated release date for season 23 as of this writing, although speculation is leaning towards an April 9th date, which is a Friday, which usually is the day of the week new seasons get released. With the ending of season 22 on the way, that means there is not much time left in the Double Goblin event.

What's New In Season 23 For Diablo 3

Three followers stand side by side inDiablo 3

Diablo 3 has some great new additions for season 23 that are easy to miss with all the character changes. The most significant change is going to be the addition of a new portrait frame and pet. The portraits themselves are unknown, but they will be a part of the Guardian's Journey as a completion reward. Another significant change is that Followers can now have equipment. Followers will have access to 14 equipment slots: the Follower Relic Item, Helm, Shoulders, Chest, Gloves, Bracers, Belt, 2 Rings, Neck, Pants Boots, main-hand weapon, and off-hand. Staying with the Follower, they will be getting a new feature called Emanate that has players gaining the effect of the Legendary Powers and Set Bonuses that get equipped on the Follower. The Followers' changes should make the single-player experience a lot more meaningful and make the Followers more valuable than their previous iteration. Some new skills will get added to the Scoundrel and the Enchantress, which are the following:

  • Scoundrel:
    • Night's Veil: Cloud that covers around the Scoundrel in a 20-yard area which lasts 5 to 10 seconds based on the Scoundrel’s Dexterity with all attacks in the cloud becoming critical attacks.
    • Piercing Shot: A ranged attack based upon the Scoundrel's Dexterity stat. The attack pierces and increases damage done to enemies by 10% for 3 to 6 seconds.
  • Enchantress:
    • Temporal Pulse: A guided orb gets cast that both deals 150% weapon damage and slows enemies by 80% for 3 to 6 seconds based on the Enchantress's Intelligence.
    • Amplification: The highest static elemental bonus gets increased by 5% to 10% based on the Enchantress's Intelligence.
    • Prophetic Harmony: Skill Cooldowns drop by 5% to 10% based on the Enchantress's Intelligence.
    • Fate's Lapse: When taking a deathblow, the Enchantress speeds up the movement through time for 3 to 7 seconds to avoid death based on the Enchantress's Intelligence.

There will also be many skill changes that will affect gameplay for the Scoundrel, Templar, and Enchantress. Some item changes for more balancing will also occur in this season, such as the Bones of Rathma set going through an extensive overhaul.
