It's time to talk about RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race season 2, and there are some exciting facts to reveal. RuPaul's Drag Race has been on the air for many years now, and many spin-offs have been launched since the show's inception. One of the newer spin-offs, which premiered back in 2020, was RPSCDR. This show pits celebrities against each other as they try to earn a cash prize of $30,000 for the charity of their choosing. The first season was a success, and it was picked up for a second season, which is premiering next month.

During RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race season 1, viewers saw the celebrities enter the werkroom and compete in a mini-challenge, like typical contestants do on the main series. Then, the celebrities were paired up with Drag Race alumni to help mentor them for the rest of the competition. At the end of the show, one celebrity would walk away with $30,000 for their charity. However, for season 2, the format is getting a big makeover.

When season 2 premieres on August 12, the format will be completely different from what fans saw the last time that they watched the show. Viewers are excited for the change, but they are wondering how this new Drag Race spinoff format is going to work. Here are all of the answers that viewers need before they watch the new season:

New Format

According to TVline, the second season will see nine new celebrities competing. However, it will now be similar to The Masked Singer, as the celebrities will already be in drag, and will only reveal themselves if they are eliminated from the competition. This brings a new aspect to the show that viewers are excited to see. Viewers can watch the trailer for season 2 above, via the RuPaul's Drag Race YouTube channel.

 Queen Supremes

RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race

During season 1, each episode saw three Drag Race alumni mentoring the queens throughout the competition. However, for season 2, it seems like three "Queen Supremes" will be the permanent mentors, with other queens making appearances. The three Drag Race queen supremes are Brooke Lynn Hytes, Monét X Change, and Jujubee. The guest queens making an appearance will be Eureka, Gottmik, Katya, Morgan McMichaels, Silky Nutmeg Ganache, and Violet Chacki.

Cash Prize

Another change for RuPaul's Secret Celebrity Drag Race season 2 is the cash prize. During season 1 of the competition, one celebrity per episode was named "America's Next Celeb Drag Superstar," and awarded the $30,000 prize. Now, it seems that only one celebrity (and one celebrity only) will receive the cash prize for their charity. The cash prize was also upgraded to $100,000 for the second season.
