Michelle Yeoh and Jamie Lee Curtis are alternately adversaries and lovers in new images from Everything Everywhere All At Once that depict multiple universes from the sci-fi film. The project is the third feature film from directing duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, who are known collectively as Daniels. The duo, who cut their teeth directing music videos, burst onto the scene with the extravagantly strange Swiss Army Man in 2016, which featured Paul Dano encountering a farting corpse played by Daniel Radcliffe.

Everything Everywhere All At Once, which comes to theaters on March 25, 2022, promises to be no less engaging. Michelle Yeoh will star as Evelyn Wang, a laundromat owner who discovers that her existence spans multiple universes. The film will also star Ke Huy Quan, James Hong, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jenny Slate, Harry Shum Jr., Andy Le, Brian Le, Audrey Wasilewski, and Stephanie Hsu as Evelyn's daughter, a role that was originally filled by Yeoh's Crazy Rich Asians co-star Awkwafina.

Today, EW shared a batch of new exclusive photos from Everything Everywhere All At Once. The photos show a wide variety of the different universes that Yeoh's character will find herself in, beginning with an action shot of auditor Jamie Lee Curtis smashing her head through a cubicle at her IRS office. The next shot shows a completely different side to both characters, in a universe where they are in a loving relationship... and have hot dogs for fingers. The rest of the images include another close-up of Yeoh alongside one of her training in martial arts with a character played by Jing Li. Then there are two additional shots of alternate versions of Evelyn's family, including her daughter in an Elvis costume and her husband (Quan) as a suave James Bond type. The concept of the multiverse is one that has exploded in pop culture over the past year. This has come especially as major comic book film franchises attempt to push into the future while still harnessing nostalgia. The most prominent example is Spider-Man: No Way Home, which combined three generations of Spider-Man films, but the DCEU is taking that route in the upcoming The Flash, which will feature Ben Affleck's Batman alongside Michael Keaton's.

Everything Everywhere All At Once seems to be taking this trend and applying Daniels' inimitably weird worldview. Not only have they found a way to explore the same character through multiple iterations, but they have also unlocked the opportunity to run her through entirely different genres in a mashup that is sure to be a blend of goofy and thrilling. It is currently unknown which universes will get the most screen time in the film, but one can only hope the universe with the hot dog fingers is more than just a throwaway gag.
