After starring alongside him in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Harrison Ford praises Ke Huy Quan's performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once. Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, collectively known as Daniels, the multiverse-hopping adventure film was released earlier this year to strong reviews from both audiences and critics. Everything Everywhere All At Once stars Michelle Yeoh as laundromat owner Evelyn with Quan co-starring as Waymond, her husband. The two embark on a multiversal quest to save their universe while also discovering deeper truths about themselves and their family.

Earlier this year, in a touching Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom reunion photo, Ford and Quan, who played Short Round, met backstage at D23, prompting an outpouring of love for the duo on social media. Now, in a recent interview with Uproxx, Ford reflects on his run-in with Quan and shares some touching praise for the actor's performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once. Check out Ford's full comment below:

"Oh yeah. Yeah, it was great to see him. I mean … I’ve had the opportunity to see the film. He is really terrific in his movie. And I’m so glad to see him … and what he has become. I’m so happy for him. He’s such a happy guy, too."

Could Ke Huy Quan Ever Return As Short Round In The Indiana Jones Franchise?

Short Round and Indiana Jones look worried in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Everything Everywhere All At Once marks Quan's return to the world of acting after spending a number of years behind the camera and the actor is already slated to appear in season 2 of Loki and several other projects. Unfortunately, there's been no word on if there are any plans for him to return to the Indiana Jones franchise as Short Round. Ford is slated to hang up his hat and bullwhip with next year's Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which will see the return of John Rhys-Davies as Sallah, but no other original franchise stars are confirmed to return.

Although Ford may be retiring the role in James Mangold's upcoming fifth installment, the franchise is expected to continue in the form of a Disney+ show. The untitled show is currently in the very early stages of development and, since no writer is currently attached, no plot details have been released just yet. It's certainly possible, however, that the show could see Quan could return as Short Round in some form. Much in the same way supporting character Riley Poole (Justin Bartha) returns in National Treasure: Edge of History to serve as a mentor to a younger adventurer, Quan's Short Round could serve to connect the show to the franchise's roots. Alternatively, of course, many fans likely wouldn't mind if the show revolves around Short Round entirely, putting him into a leading role for the very first time.

It remains to be seen if the character of Short Round will ever return, but Quan certainly dazzled audiences with his comeback in Everything Everywhere All At Once. With the film having earned almost universal acclaim, Quan will likely become more of an in-demand screen presence, with his Loki character potentially becoming a regular addition to the MCU. Regardless of what is next for Quan, Ford is evidently happy about the actor's comeback and the two remain on good terms after first meeting more than 35 years ago.
