Cage is set to star in an upcoming Amazon TV series as Joe Exotic, the infamous big-cat owner featured in the popular Netflix docuseries Tiger King. This will be Cage's first television role of his acting career. The yet-to-be-named project is being produced by CBS Television Studios and Imagine Entertainment and will be available to stream on Prime Video. The eight-episode series will center around the eccentric lifestyle of Joe Schreibvogel, aka Joe Exotic. It will be based on a 2019 Texas Monthly article about Schreibvogel's private zoo and legendary feuds with Carole Baskin and Jeff Lowe. Cage's project is one of two scripted Tiger King series in the works. A release date has not yet been announced.

This revenge thriller will feature Cage as a truffle hunter in search of his foraging pig after she is kidnapped. The rights to the film were won by Neon, the U.S. distributor of the Oscar-winning film Parasite. Despite Neon's partnership with Hulu and the recent demand for streaming content, Pig is set to be released in theaters at an unspecified date.

Untitled Highfire Project

Amazon is developing a series adaptation of Eoin Colfer's novel Highfire and announced that Cage will both executive produce and star as the show's titular character of the same name. This fantasy-thriller will be a live adaptation mixed with elements of crime and magical realism. If the project does go to series, this will be Cage's second-ever television role, following the Joe Exotic project.

The series will feature Nicolas Cage as the voice of a vodka-drinking, cable-TV-watching dragon who is past his prime and lives alone in the Louisiana bayous. Based on the plot of the novel, his world collides with that of Squib, a human teenager, and an unlikely bond forms in their shared quest for survival. The novel is being adapted for television by Davey Holmes, the creator and executive producer of the Get Shorty TV series.
