Quick Links
Along with costumes, unlockable accessories are available for players in Resident Evil 4 Remake to either provide small changes to gameplay or change Leon or Ashley's look during the game. With nearly 21 different accessories to unlock, there are plenty of items for players to get that can alter the aesthetic of the game's main characters. However, these cosmetic pieces are not given for free, having concrete goals that must be met to earn them.
Similar to secret weapons or costumes, accessories are unlocked by meeting certain objectives within the game. These can range from finishing the game's story on a higher difficulty to achieving high ranks on individual missions. However, players should keep in mind that accessories are gained differently from the powerful base weapons like the Rocket Launcher or treasures found in story chapters, which usually are tied to the Merchant and their sales.
How to Unlock Every Normal Accessory
There are sixteen normal accessories players may unlock in RE4 Remake, which do not change the gameplay. Instead, they provide a new aesthetic for either Ashley or Leon, seen mostly in cutscenes and throughout the normal events of the game. Additionally, some of these items only unlock once players have already beaten the game at least once, allowing players to easily earn more by playing through the story again on New Game+.
When a new accessory unlocks, players can go to the Main Menu and purchase it using CP Points earned by playing the game. CP Points are gained by completing story objectives and beating different challenges seen in the game. The "Bonuses" option on the Menu leads to the "Extra Content Shop" prompt, which shows available costumes and accessories players can choose to unlock when selected.

How to Unlock Every Special Accessory
Special accessories are the items that directly impact how the game works, sometimes changing ammunition to weapons or increasing melee damage. A total of five special accessories are available for players to purchase, but they typically cost a far greater amount of CP than the normal cosmetic pieces. For example, the Cat Ears accessory in RE4 Remake costs 3,000 CP even when the unlock conditions are met, costing nearly twice as much as the Skull Mask.

While these items will take players far more time to earn than normal accessories, they are worth the effort from their abilities alone. Much like weapon attachments in RE4 Remake purchased from the Merchant, enhancements to gameplay can be an easy way to beat challenges and earn even more CP needed to buy the special accessories. Playing through the game once to unlock one of these special accessories and then using that item to finish the game again on higher difficulty can be a quick way to get the others.
How to Equip Unlocked Accessories
As mentioned, the "Extra Content Shop" shows players which accessories they can purchase with CP by meeting the proper prerequisites. Once a cosmetic item has been bought, players may go to the Main Menu again, which has a tab labeled "Bonuses" along with "Options" and "Main Story." Through the Bonuses menu, players are given the option to equip whatever accessories they want to either Ashley or Leon, depending on what they have available.
Going into the game lets players see how any of the accessories look, along with any gameplay changes they might provide. The same process to equip accessories works for costumes, which also offers a gameplay change if players get the Armor for Ashley that prevents her from taking any damage. While every special accessory change only applies to Leon, having this Armor can be a great help when trying to complete the game on higher difficulties. Once players unlock every accessory in Resident Evil 4 Remake, they can take these items and apply what they do easily, experiencing this iconic remake in a whole new light.
