Romancing companions is an important part of nearly every open-world RPG, and Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is no exception. In this latest installment to the franchise, players control Eivor, a Viking raider, and lead the Vikings in conquest of Anglo-Saxon kingdoms. Eivor can be either male or female, and players can customize what they look like. Eivor is also on a mission of vengeance to find and kill the man responsible for their parents' deaths, a rogue warlord named Kjotve the Cruel. Throughout the game, players will be introduced to several potential love interests, some of whom will engage in a long-term, committed relationship with Eivor, and some of whom will only be passing flings.
The romance options in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla are not restricted by Eivor's gender, allowing players more freedom to pursue any Viking love interest they want. As in many other RPGs, players will need to choose flirt dialogue options, denoted by a heart, to engage in romantic banter and possibly start a romance. Often these options won't appear until Eivor has spent time getting to know the character or experienced meaningful moments with them. Every Romanceable Character in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
At the time of writing, there are eight available romances in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla:
- Bil
- Broder
- Randvi
- Petra
- Stigr the Amorous
- Tewdwr
- Vili
- Gunlodr
Players can also flirt with Stowe, but they will quickly find out he is only interested in Erke. Here's how to begin each character's romance.
Bil
Players will first meet Bil by a frozen pool in the Rygjafylke mountains in Norway. She will ask Eivor to try their luck at finding her comb, hidden somewhere in the pool. Players can use Odin's Sight to find the treasure, dive for it, and return the comb to Bil. They will need to be quick to avoid hypothermia. She will invite Eivor to a campfire and offer to comb their hair, which will lead to a romantic moment.
Broder
To begin a romance with Broder, players will first need to liberate East Anglia. Then, players can romance Broder at his sister's wedding. When he propositions Eivor, the player can agree, and the two will head to a somewhat secluded spot at the wedding and begin the romance.
Randvi
Randvi is Eivor's brother Sigurd's wife. Choosing this romance option will alter Eivor's relationship with Sigurd and will have an effect on the main story. To begin the romance with her, players will need to have a level 3 settlement. When Randvi asks to go with Eivor to Lunden, bring her. When they talk, the player should choose the romance option to reciprocate Randvi's affections for Eivor, which will start the romance.
Petra
Players will meet Petra at the Hunter's Hut, and she will offer a quest asking Eivor to help her find her brother. After completing the quest, Petra will ask Eivor on an archery date. The player can choose to try and impress Petra with their archery skills or let her win. Either way, she will confess attraction for Eivor. At this point, the player can choose the romantic dialogue option to enter a romance with her. Players may not romance Petra if they are in another relationship already until they break up with their current partner.
Stigr
Stigr is a smooth talker located in Hemthorpe in the northern part of the Snotinghamshire region. The player will need to beat him in a flyting competition. Stigr will become impressed at this and suggest spending more time together. Eivor can agree, which will lead to a romantic fling, or decline and take their winnings.
Tewdwr
Tewdwr's romance is a shorter one, as Eivor won't be able to enter a long-term relationship with him. Tewdwr is supposed to become the ealdorman of Glowcestre. The night before this happens, he gets drunk with Eivor on mead. At this point, the player can choose to keep their resulting adventure platonic or romantic. Either way, the resulting surprise the next day is exactly the same.
Vili
Vili is Eivor's childhood friend and the son of the grand Jarl of Snotinghamshire. Near the end of the Snotinghamshires part of the main story, Eivor and Vili will sit together by the fire, and Vili will ask if their friendship could ever evolve into something more. The player can say yes to enter a romance, or reject his advances.
Gunlodr
Players will need to visit Asgard twice before the Gunlodr romance will trigger. During the Asgard questline, players will find Thor's Bridal Circlet, which Eivor can give to Gunlodr as a gift when they travel to Jotunheim. After conversing with him, romantic dialogue options should open, and the player can enter a romance with him.
