Many directors are known for casting some familiar faces over and over again, and the brilliant and unique Wes Anderson is certainly no exception. With his magical and mesmerizing roles, fans have gotten used to falling in love with the same actors in different wonderful roles in his films.
With The French Dispatch begging to be released - and fans highly anticipating it - it's time to take a look at the cast, and all the actors that fans have definitely seen before in Wes Anderson's films. To get familiar with the familiar, fans should also re-watch all these other wonderful flicks.
Bill Murray
The great Bill Murray is set to star in this newest flick, but he's also certainly no newbie to acting under Wes Anderson's direction. He voiced Badger in the animated flick Fantastic Mr. Fox, and also starred in The Royal Tenenbaums.
For a mix of Anderson's live-action genius and animated magic, fans can re-watch the best of Bill Murray in these two flicks before 2021.
Léa Seydoux
This actress is actually a Bond girl, but she has also been in The Beauty and the Beast and The Lobster. Of course, fans can also spot her in The Grand Budapest Hotel as Clotilde.
The fun and memorable movie has a whole lot of Anderson's favorite actors, and fans should definitely watch it to prepare for Seydoux as Simone in The French Dispatch.
Edward Norton
Edward Norton has three Oscar nominations, and fans likely know him best from Fight Club, but he's also been one of Wes Anderson's go-to actors to cast in his films.
He had a voice role in Isle of Dogs, voicing Rex. He was also the memorable and hilarious Henckels in The Grand Budapest Hotel. If that wasn't enough, he stole the show in Moonrise Kingdom as Scout Master Ward, too.
Jason Schwartzman
This actor isn't as much in the spotlight as the others on this list, and fans probably know him best from the new series, Fargo. However, he's been in two flicks with Wes Anderson already - The Grand Budapest Hotel and Moonrise Kingdom.
He'll be coming back to Anderson's side as Hermes Jones, and it'll be more than exciting to see him team up with Frances McDormand again, who both have their hearts with Wes Anderson and the world of Fargo.
Frances McDormand
This legendary actress has been slaying since her role in Blood Simple in 1984, and while she's usually tied to the Coen Brothers (both figuratively and literally), she also lends her talent often to Wes Anderson.
She also is an original member of his crew, with her role in Moonrise Kingdom as Mrs. Bishop. She also gave a voice performance in Isle of Dogs, and fans can hardly wait for her to be Lucinda Krementz in The French Dispatch.
Owen Wilson
This actor might be known for comedy and saying "wow", but his best roles might actually be when he teams up with Wes Anderson. He also had a role in The Grand Budapest Hotel and nailed the part of M. Chuck.
He also lent his hilarious and memorable voice to Fantastic Mr. Fox, which original fans of Wes Anderson will always cherish about the director and this comedic actor.
Tilda Swinton
Tilda Swinton is no new face to movie buffs, and this will be the fourth movie she's hopped on board with Wes Anderson for. Starting way back in 2012 for Moonrise Kingdom, she also appeared in The Grand Budapest Hotel.
For lovers of Isle of Dogs, she was also the familiar voice of Oracle. There's a lot to love about Swinton AND Anderson, so might as well binge them together.
Adrien Brody
Wes Anderson deserves some credit for creating characters that are truly unforgettable, and that is certainly the case when it comes to Adrien Brody as Dmitri in The Grand Budapest Hotel.
This actor doesn't have as much fame as some of the others on this list, but his talent is definitely underappreciated. He also voiced the Field Mouse in Fantastic Mr. Fox, so he's more than prepared.
Willem Dafoe
It might just be impossible to forget Willem Dafoe as Jopling in The Grand Budapest Hotel, and it's a role and look that fans will always cherish and remember about this iconic and talented actor.
He's not done with Anderson, thankfully, and will joining the cast of The French Dispatch. Plus, fans can catch his familiar voice in Fantastic Mr. Fox, too, to catch up on some of his best work before the new one hits theater.
Saoirse Ronan
This four-time Oscar nominated actress was Agatha in the 2014 masterpiece, The Grand Budapest Hotel, long before she stole everyone's hearts in Lady Bird and Brooklyn.
This young actress will be linking up with Anderson again! And this time, she's bringing her favorite co-star, Timothée Chalamet, to star in it as well. For those that missed these two on-screen together in Little Women, it's time to love them again.
