The newest Pokémon anime opening has been revealed and it features Ash's many adventures. Since he has been the lead of the show from the beginning, Ash has traveled with several companions and competed in numerous battles. Now, a few early - and very recognizable highlights - are the central focus of his next chapter. On Twitter, @AnipokeFandom shared the new opening, titled "Mezase Pokemon Master - with my friends", which is performed by Rica (Rika) Matsumoto. The music video features numerous highlights from Ash's Indigo League era, but it also has snippets from his other adventures, including a collage of photos featuring all of his primary companions. Misty, Brock, Tracey, May, Max, Dawn, Cilan, Iris, Clement, Bonnie, Serena, Kiawe, Lana, Lillie, Mallow, Sophocles, Chloe and Goh are all present. The video also features some of the Pokémon from Ash's debut team, alongside their Japanese names (Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charizard, and Squirtle).Related: Only One Legendary Pokémon Was Designed For A Movie, Not the Games

Ash's Journey Comes Full Circle Musically

Rica Matsumoto has been singing the openings for Pokémon for many years, for both the anime and the films, in the original Japanese airings. She is also known primarily as the voice actress for Ash (Satoshi). This new OP blends some of the best moments from the first season and also brings in some moments from his more recent adventures. While the combination of the seasons may not be even - leaning far more into the original adventure and nostalgia - this theme's video is one that long-time Pokémon fans need to see.

To Pokémon's Indigo League, Orange Islands, and Beyond!

Some of the noticeable moments in the video include his meeting Pikachu, their rocky beginnings together, Ash's gym battles against Brock and Lt. Surge, Butterfree's emotional goodbye, and his time spent freezing in a cave during the Orange Islands era when challenging Danny. Later portions in the video include several legendary sightings from the series, including Ho-Oh's anime debut, as well as a brief glimpse of Groudon and Kyogre, plus newer ones like Solgaleo. The video also shifts to include recent battles with Infernape and Ash's Greninja (Ash-Greninja), while Pikachu helps close it out with a high voltage showing.

While many fans from Pokémon's early days have likely dropped off from watching the show, this OP brings in elements for fans across the series' history. From the nostalgia kick in the beginning to the inclusion of Ash-Greninja, fans from every era are being represented. Pokémon Journeys gets a big nod with Ash's current outfit remaining the same. Nonetheless, this video can't bring in everything, as there are very few moments from Ash's Advanced, Black and White, and XYZ eras, outside of the companion collage. Pokémon's newest OP is a must-see for fans of the show from every stage, as Ash prepares to step down from his central role in the anime portion of the franchise.
