Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 6 has arrived after the long and somewhat disappointing bounty-hunter-themed Season 5. Fortnite Season 6 is centered on a primal theme and including new characters, challenges, and collectible cosmetics. This season, players will find the Fortnite island has grown wild, with a new grassy biome replacing the desert in the middle of the map. Animals like boars, wolves, and even dinosaurs are also coming this season. This tonal shift shares some similarities with survival games, and though the features and mechanics of the new Fortnite season are not quite as intricate of those in Minecraft or Valheim, a simple crafting mechanic has been added that affects many of the new weapons players can find around the island.

Epic Games has added many new weapons to Fortnite Season 6 based on the theme. They also unvaulted a small, seemingly unrelated collection of popular options from previous seasons. Most base weapon types in Season 6 will have three variations: Makeshift, Primal, and Mechanical. Players will need to craft the Mechanical and Primal upgrades for Makeshift weapons using resources found around the island, like animal bones and mechanical parts. Each upgrade comes with different stats to best suit a player's needs. Sometimes, weapons that already have these upgrades can also be found across the map. Here are all the new and unvaulted weapons available in Fortnite Season 6.

Players can expect a variety of new bows, SMGs, shotguns, rifles, and pistols in Fortnite Season 6. All the options can be found, but players can also speed up the process by finding a Makeshift version and modifying these weapons  using the new crafting system. The new weapons include:

  • Mechanical Explosive Bow
  • Mechanical Shockwave Bow
  • Primal Stink Bow
  • Primal Flame Bow
  • Mechanical Bow
  • Makeshift Bow
  • Primal SMG
  • Makeshift Submachine Gun
  • Primal Shotgun
  • Makeshift Shotgun
  • Primal Rifle
  • Makeshift Rifle
  • Primal Pistol
  • Makeshift Revolver

It is possible more will be released or vaulted as the new season progresses.

Players will also be able to catch two new weaponized fish: the Cuddle and the Stink Flopper. Cuddles can be lobbed at enemies and will viciously hug them, then explode from joy. Stink Floppers can be thrown as a sort of stink bomb, or eaten.

At the start of Season 6, players will be able to find two new Mythic Weapons, Mythic Spire Jump Boots and Spire Assassin's Primal Shotgun. Both are obtained by killing a spire guardian. To get the boots, players will need to take the orb that drops from a guardian to the Mythic Spire. The boots allow a player three jumps at increasing heights, with the last jump getting enough air to allow the player to deploy their glider. To get the Shotgun, players will need to defeat the Spire Assassin in the center of the map.

Every Unvaulted Weapon in Fortnite Season 6

There are only a few weapons returning to Fortnite for Season 6, likely due to the many new options available. The unvaulted weapons for Season 6 include:

  • Pump Shotgun
  • Burst Assault Rifle
  • All Revolvers

Fans of Fortnite are most excited for the return of the Pump Shotgun, which seems to be a series favorite. It is not yet clear if these are upgradeable using the same crafting system.

While very few options have so far come out of the vault, Epic Games has decided to shelve many weapons for now to make room for the Makeshift, Primal, and Mechanical variants and the new crafting system. It is possible some of the crafted weapons and upgrades will function similarly to these vaulted weapons, but there has not yet been official word to confirm this. Vaulted weapons for Fortnite Season 6 include:

  • Bolt Action Sniper Rifle
  • Lever action Rifle
  • Common Assault rifle
  • Burst Assault Rifle
  • Heavy Assault Rifle
  • Charge Shotgun
  • Dragon's Breath Shotgun
  • Tactical Shotgun
  • Lever Action Shotgun
  • Suppressed SMG
  • All pistols
  • Zero Point Fish
  • Thermal Fish

It is always possible other new or unvaulted weapons could be vaulted before the end of the season, so players will want to keep an eye on updates from Epic.
