After the touching teen drama that was Ms. Marvel, fans can now enjoy the lawyer tale, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, which is currently airing on Disney+. Central to the story is Jennifer Walter, aka She-Hulk, who marks her live-action debut in the MCU, 42 years after she first appeared in The Savage She-Hulk #1.

Though She-Hulk doesn't have a huge presence in Marvel-related content like her cousin Bruce Banner, aka Hulk, she hasn't been totally absent. The super-powered lawyer has appeared either in supporting or major roles in a number of animated movies and TV shows, either teaming with The Fantastic Four or working alongside the Hulk. And some projects have managed to portray She-Hulk with more comic accuracy than others, whether to manifest her humor or the people she worked with.

Fantastic Four (1994) - 3.8

Doctor Doom fights She-Hulk in Fantastic Four

She-Hulk's only appearance comes in the episode "Fantastic Fortitude," where she and Hulk help The Fantastic Four take down the Leader’s Gamma soldiers. She-Hulk and The Thing then flirt but part ways after the mission.

The show's lower rating is a reflection of its many flaws, and its major issue is that it doesn't grant the guest heroes any character development, with She-Hulk’s brief appearance a perfect example of that. Because of her single-episode appearance, the animated series doesn't get to explore her arc or give a feel for whom She-Hulk is. A few fights and a flirtatious moment with the Thing are all the character gets to do, but the romance angle is a nod to the comics where She-Hulk also dates him. Having dated for several comic issues, She-Hulk and Wyatt are considered one of the fan-favorite Marvel comic couples.

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law (2022) – 5.2

Jennifer gets a new job in She-Hulk - Attorney At Law

Jennifer Walters suddenly becomes a Hulk when an accident causes her to come into contact with Bruce’s blood. She thus tries her best to juggle between her new life as a superhero and her usual career as a lawyer.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is a standout project because it marks the only time her law career gets explored on screen. From the start, fans are given a reason to be curious because there isn't the usual origin story where Jennifer Walters acquires her powers from a blood transfusion. Instead, it happens from an accident caused by a Sakaaran spaceship. Additionally, there are cool bonding moments between She-Hulk and Hulk, and as that happens, the humor flows as smoothly as it does in most MCU projects. Despite being a promising legal comedy filled with Jennifer's breaking-the-fourth walls, references about Captain America, and clever quips, the series has been review bombed on IMDb, which explains its low 5.2 score.

The Superhero Squad Show (2009-2011) – 6.0

She-Hulk argues with Iron-Man in The Superhero Squad Show

In The Superhero Squad Show, She-Hulk is introduced when Thanos takes Nova captive, destroying Nova Corp in the process. She, Iron Man, and Hercules team up to rescue him from the Mad Titan.

The Superhero Squad Show was one of the few shows during its time that delivered strong female representation in the superhero genre. As a result, She-Hulk is just as instrumental in defeating Thanos as Iron Man and Hercules. Sadly, watching She-Hulk send Thanos back to Planet Titan is unlikely in live-action since the alien that’s considered one of the best MCU villains is now dead. A complicated relationship between She-Hulk and Hulk also presents a different depiction on-screen since most iterations depict the two on good terms. Since Bruce Banner is in his Savage Hulk form, he isn't aware that She-Hulk is his cousin, resulting in a back-and-forth.

Hulk And The Agents of S.M.A.S.H. (2013-2015) – 6.0

The superheroes take on Galactus in Agents Of Smash

In the series, Hulk, Red Hulk, She-Hulk, A-Bomb, and Skaar team up to form the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. The group focuses on threats that other superheroes have been unable to deal with.

She-Hulk has been part of many supergroups in the comics, so it's fun for audiences to watch her be a great team player on screen, too. Since courtroom cases could be a little complex for a show targeted for younger audiences, She-Hulk gets to a pilot here, steering the S.M.A.S.H. Jump Jet whenever the group goes on missions. With good teamwork comes many victories, the team's biggest threat was Galactus, one of the most powerful Marvel villains yet to join the MCU. This animated series utilizes more of She-Hulk's typical style of breaking the fourth wall from the comics, though these aspects can sometimes overpower the dramatic moments in the series.

Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes (2006) – 6.6

She-Hulk banters with Fantastic Four members in World's Greatest Heroes

In the episode, “The Cure,” Ben Grimm, aka the Thing, loses his powers. She-Hulk is thus brought in to replace him in the group.

A major reason Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes is widely seen as one of the best Fantastic Four animated adaptations is the numerous guest appearances by most of Marvel's popular heroes. Still, She-Hulk’s appearance specifically feels rewarding since it doesn't just come off as mere fan service. What happens is all comic-accurate; Just as She-Hulk is brought in as a stand-in for the Thing in Marvel Super Heroes: Secret Wars #12 after the events of Battleworld, the same happens in the episode. Sadly, with the brief nature of storylines being one of the show's major weaknesses, She-Hulk's stint with The Fantastic Four is all over soon after it starts.

The Incredible Hulk (1982) – 6.7

She-Hulk argues with Hulk in The Incredible Hulk (1983)

Jennifer makes an appearance in the episode "Enter: She-Hulk." In it, Bruce visits her in Los Angeles to find out how she is able to maintain her intelligence after changing into the Hulk. However, the visit is interrupted when HYDRA attacks the city.

"Enter: She-Hulk" is an unforgettable episode because, for the first time, She-Hulk jumps from the pages to the screen with a proper and straightforward introduction of who she is. The show's creators don't assume everyone has read the comics, so the episode perfectly lays out the basics about her life and sets up a bond with the Hulk that has come to be seen as mandatory. Moreover, Hulk is depicted as a hero with weaknesses rather than the overpowered Avenger that he normally is. As the case with the Disney+ series, "Enter: She-Hulk" reminds viewers that Jennifer Walters is the better Hulk since she can control her powers without needing any special gadgets.

The Incredible Hulk & She-Hulk (1996) – 6.7

Hulk banters with She Hulk in Hulk and She Hulk (1996)

She-Hulk appears in a supporting role in season 1 before going on to become one of the main characters in season 2. She is also depicted as an athlete.

The animated series is perhaps the closest thing to She-Hulk: Attorney at Law in terms of personal relationships and general character involvement. More details about her relationship with Bruce are given, showing how they work alongside each other when facing the perils. Here, She-Hulk is also a star that gets to knock down everyone from Kang to Loki, rather than just a supporting character. As such, fans of the character feel well-served and more obliged to recommend it.

Marvel Knights: Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk (2013) – 6.8

One of the most likable X-Men characters, Wolverine, is hired by S.H.I.E.L.D. to hunt down a rogue Hulk. She-Hulk then shows up to help him.

Overall, Marvel Knights: Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk is extremely delightful because it's literally one extended fight sequence. It's all about Hulk and Wolverine, who throw everything they have at each other, making the proceedings seem like those of a video game. In addition to that, staunch Marvel fans will appreciate the fact that She-Hulk is given a better, fight-related storyline with Wolverine here, compared to the comics where their only major interaction involves her crushing on him.

Ultimate Spider-Man (2012-2017) – 7.1

Soider-Man strategizes with She-Hulk in Ultimate Spider-Man

In the five-part “Contest Of Champions” storyline, She-Hulk shows up to participate in a game between Grandmaster and The Collector. In the end, she is announced as one of the winners.

As with Tom Holland's Spider-Man movies, Ultimate Spider-Man is heavy on humor, an ingredient guaranteed to please fans. The five-episode “Contest Of Champions” arc also feels like an Avengers-level event, given the high number of heroes involved. MCU fans are only familiar with the "Contest Of Champions" clash between Thor and Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok, but in the animated series, nearly every major hero gets to participate, allowing She-Hulk to shine as one of the strongest among the bunch.
