Love always seems to be in the air in Hollywood. Each week it seems like there are more and more tabloids on celebrity couples living in the city of stars.
Marvel actors are no exception when it comes to Hollywood flings. Some of the actors in Marvel films are married, others are currently dating someone, and others still are happily living the single life. The thing about Marvel movies is that there is a wider range of releases than most people think. There are the films which are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and there are others that are madxe by separate movie studios but still have to give Marvel credit for the characters.
Marvel has brought a lot of people together over the few decades that film companies have been making Marvel movies. While it is common for famous actors to date each other, there are some actors and actresses who prefer to stick with their partners who they were with before they became famous. Everybody has a unique relationship, especially in Hollywood, and Marvel stars are no exception.
Focusing on actors who are in non-MCU titles, here is Every Marvel Star: Who Are They Dating?
James Franco
With not one but two actors playing Spider-Man since Tobey Maguire hung up his red and blue suit, it is more than safe to assume that James Franco is done playing Harry Osbourne.
For those that do not remember, Franco starred in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy from 2002 to 2007. The films were relatively well received and Franco would go on to star in dozens of more films.Franco was nominated for an Oscar in 2011 for the film 127 Hours which was based on the gruesome true story of Aaron Ralston. More recently, Franco’s film The Disaster Artist was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay but ultimately lost to Call Me by Your Name.
Franco is typically referred to the Jack of all trades since he can not only star in the silliest to the most serious of films, but because he acts, writes, teaches, directs, and also paints.
Despite the assault allegations against Franco, he has secured a girlfriend with a woman named Isabel Pakzad. Pakzad may not be a famous actress, but she is getting a Masters degree in Integrated Design, Business, and Technology. Her smarts seem to be a good match for Franco, who has been dating Pakzad since early November 2017.
Nicholas Hoult
Nicholas Hoult has made quite the name for himself in Hollywood. He started acting all the way back in 1996 in the movie Intimate Relations when he was seven years old. He went on to star in the British movie About a Boy and TV series Skins.
As an adult, he has starred in more commonly heard of films such as Warm Bodies in 2013 and Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015. Hoult is also currently part of the X-Men franchise as Hank McCoy also known as Beast.
While post-apocalyptic settings and mutant-filled worlds often make up Hoult’s life, his world got a little bigger last month when his first child was born.
Hoult previously dated Jennifer Lawrence but ended the relationship in 2014, and he's moved on.
Nowadays, Hoult’s date is a Playboy model and also the mother of his first child. Despite wanting to keep the child a secret from the world for obvious reasons such as paparazzi and unwanted attention, the news of their child started to creep out last month.
Bryana Holly may only be known to certain readers, but she is quite the famous model. She has been in several Playboy issues and represented by Wilhelmina Models. She was born in 1993 in Huntington Beach, California and has only gotten more famous as time passes.
Olivia Munn
Many might know Olivia Munn from her days on Attack of the Show and X-Play but she has grown from her days as a talk show host. Olivia Munn may have had a small role in Iron Man 2 as a character named Chess Roberts, but when it comes to Marvel she is much more known for her character in the X-Men universe named Psylocke.
Psylocke is a mutant who has the powers of telekinesis, telepathy, precognition, and the ability to make weapons out of psychic energy. She also tends to wear a skimpy purple outfit which made its way onto the big screen in 2016 when X-Men: Apocalypse came out.
When it comes to the dating scene, Olivia Munn has had many boyfriends including Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers which ended in mid-2017.
Despite the almost three year relationship, Munn seems to have moved on to someone in the acting business. While it is still very much speculation, it is rumored that Olivia Munn is now dating Álex González.
Álex González may not be widely known in Hollywood since he is a Spanish actor, but he has also appeared in an X-Men movie. González appeared as Janos Quested, aka Riptide, alongside Kevin Bacon as a villain in X-Men: First Class.
Ben Affleck
Both fanboys and fangirls were excited at the news that Ben Affleck was single in 2017. Sadly, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner split in 2017 after twelve years of marriage. Relationships do not always seem to last, especially in Hollywood, but stars do love to get married. In the case of Affleck and Garner, their marriage would result in two daughters and one son.
Ben Affleck has won Oscars for his work on the 1997 Good Will Hunting and also for Argo in 2012, but his most recent work has been less than well received. Ben Affleck, of course, plays Batman, aka Bruce Wayne, in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and also Justice League but neither of them really hit well with critics.
While Affleck is mostly linked with DC nowadays, he also played Matt Murdock aka Daredevil in 2003. The film was hated by pretty much everyone but managed to get a spinoff called Elektra.
Affleck seems to have left Garner and Marvel behind and instead went for television producer Lindsay Shookus.
Shookus is more known for her work behind-the-scenes. Shookus has never acted and only produced episodes of 30 Rock and SNL, but she was still able to snag the heart of the former atrocious Daredevil.
Tom Hardy
Tom Hardy’s voice is loved by DC fans but soon his face will be loved by Marvel fans. Later this year, Spider-Man fans will surely be delighted when they see Tom Hardy bring Eddie Brock and Venom to life on the big screen.
Topher Grace was last seen portraying a poor version of Venom, but Hardy’s portrayal is highly anticipated by Marvel fans. Even though you could not see much of his face in The Dark Knight Rises, his daunting stature and voice struck fear into fans and even Batman himself. With Bane meeting his end and Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy officially coming to a close, Hardy moved on to other projects, one of which is for Marvel.
Many people hope Venom is secretly in the Marvel Cinematic Universe especially after producer Amy Pascal spilled the beans in an interview, but as for right now, it is a solely Sony Pictures production.
While rumors can fly about Venom, one thing that is a fact is Tom Hardy’s marriage with Charlotte Riley. The couple were wed in 2014 and brought a child to the world a year later. Riley is an English actor much like Hardy and they even met when they worked together on Wuthering Heights in 2009.
Tom Hardy’s career is doing well and his love life seems to be doing the same.
Ryan Reynolds
Ryan Reynolds has become synonymous with the Merc with the Mouth. The 41-year-old actor may now be best known as the star of Deadpool 2, but Reynolds has had a wide range of experiences when it comes to acting. Reynolds starred in the romantic comedy The Proposal alongside Sandra Bullock and even acted in thriller Buried.
While Reynolds has had a long acting career going all the way back to the early '90s, his most popular role is that of Deadpool. Reynolds played a version of Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but almost everyone despised that version of the character. Fast forward to 2016 and Ryan Reynolds would again hit the big screen as Deadpool in a much better received form.
Long before Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle fell in love with Wade Wilson, Blake Lively would fall in love with Ryan Reynolds.
Meeting on the set of Green Lantern, the couple has been married since 2012, only a year after Reynolds’ marriage with Scarlett Johansson fell apart.
Blake Lively is mostly known for her role as Serena van Der Woodsen on Gossip Girl, but she also starred in The Shallows and Age of Adaline. Much like their careers, their relationship seems to be going strong.
Nicolas Cage
A lot can be said about Nicolas Cage. He may not be everyone’s favorite actor, but he won an Oscar in 1996 for his lead role in Leaving Las Vegas. Since then, Nicolas Cage has always had a steady flow of work. He has appeared in at least one film every year since 1986 while some actors are not always that lucky.
Some years were better than others for Nicolas Cage, but one of his good years came in 2007 when he starred in four films, most notably Ghost Rider and National Treasure: Book of Secrets. While Ghost Rider was not a great movie by any means, it was still a Marvel film and did well enough to warrant a sequel which came in 2011.
Cage’s love life is almost as interesting and diverse as his acting career. Cage has been married three times, the first of which spanned from 1995 to 2001 with Patricia Arquette. A year after their divorce, Cage went on to wed Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie. Their relationship would only last for two years, which led Nicolas Cage to Alice Kim in 2004. This was Cage’s longest relationship which went for twelve years, but it seems Johnny Blaze has found himself a new lady.
Erika Koike is currently dating Nicolas Cage. While not a lot is known about Koike, she is a makeup artist and could possibly be the one Cage wants to live the rest of his life with since he recently announced he will be retiring from acting in the next few years.
Charlie Cox
Even though he has been acting since 2002, Charlie Cox really was not that big of an actor until his role of Owen Sleater in Boardwalk Empire in 2012. He was in the hit HBO show for 23 episodes, but people mostly know him today for the multiple Emmy-nominated show Daredevil. Daredevil was very well received by comic book fans and casual TV viewers alike.
Netflix was so confident after the success of Daredevil that they gave the show another two seasons and multiple spin-offs. Daredevil gave many talented actors and actresses roles but none were quite like Charlie Cox.
Apparently, Samantha Thomas also thinks there is no one like Charlie Cox as well since she has been dating him for quite some time. Thomas has dabbled in acting, but has mainly stuck to being a producer for popular Marvel shows such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Luke Cage, and Jessica Jones.
The couple is not yet married but seems to have a strong relationship since they had their first child together in 2016.
Fans cheered for Charlie Cox when he became a father, and we will surely be rooting for him when he returns later this year for Daredevil season three.
Jon Bernthal
Jon Bernthal has been in Hollywood since 2002 but he did not get shot into stardom until 2010 when he starred in The Walking Dead as Shane Walsh. His relationship with the main character Rick Grimes was one of the most interesting parts of the first two seasons and the show has arguably not been the same since his departure.
The Walking Dead isn't the only show that Bernthal has powered with his talent. After a strong first season, Daredevil's second season struggled somewhat - unless Bernthal was on screen. The Punisher first made his live-action TV debut in the season two premiere of Daredevil, simply titled “Bang”.
Jon Bernthal as the Punisher quickly became a fan favorite and his own TV show followed shortly after, with positive reviews. Moving away from the more comic book-style hijinks from Daredevil, The Defenders, and Iron Fist, The Punisher dealt with such serious subjects as PTSD.
While Frank Castle’s family backstory is quite depressing, Jon Bernthal’s real life romance is much more uplifting.
Jon Bernthal married Erin Angle on September 25th, 2010. Angle herself comes from a family of wrestlers but she herself is a stay at home mom. Angle is known for avoiding social media and instead focuses on their three children Adeline, Henry, and Billy. Both Shane and Frank had tough family situations but thankfully Jon Bernthal has a happy family in real life.
Kate Mara
Kate Mara first appeared in Law & Order 21 years ago in 1997. Since then she has appeared the film 127 Hours and also in the Netflix original House of Cards. Yes, Kate Mara did appear in Iron Man 2 as a U.S. Marshal but she is known for a less popular Marvel movie. Thankfully for Kevin Feige, the Marvel Cinematic Universe had nothing to do with the train wreck that was the 2015 Fantastic Four.
The Fantastic Four reboot that came in 2015 was utterly terrible, no doubt about it. Through no fault of the actors, there was a lot of behind-the-scenes drama that led to differences between Josh Trank and Fox. In short, the rough production ultimately hurt the end result turning it into a scrambled mess.
The actors chosen for Reed Richards, Johnny Storm, Sue Storm, and Ben Grimm were Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, and Jamie Bell respectively.
The actors seemed to come out of the disaster of a film unscathed and co-stars Kate Mara and Jamie Bell are now married.
Jamie Bell previously had a son with Evan Rachel Wood but that did not turn Kate Mara off from marriage. The two were married in July 2017 and seem to be still happily together.
Hugh Jackman
Hugh Jackman may be turning the big 5-0 this October but that proves that age is only a number. 1994 marked the start of Jackman’s acting career and his biggest role came in 2000 for Bryan Singer’s X-Men. Jackman appeared in multiple X-Men movies for seventeen years and his character eventually died in Logan in 2017.
People tend to think that Jackman was the perfect fit for Wolverine and it is hard to argue the point. Despite his X-Men days being over, Jackman’s career is far from it. Last year Hugh Jackman starred in The Greatest Showman as P.T. Barnum and that film was even nominated for an Academy Award.
Despite all the years of fame and success, Hugh Jackman has stuck by his longtime partner Deborra-lee Furness through thick and thin. Jackman could have strayed like so many other stars, but he has remained faithful to his wife whom he married back in 1996 before he really became famous. Furness herself is an Australian actress and producer who met Jackman filming the TV show Correlli.
It is heartwarming to know that some people will stick by their lifelong partners - it proves that Hollywood relationships aren't just about fame.
Wesley Snipes
Some may not think of it as a superhero movie, but Blade is indeed a Marvel movie. The character of Blade also known as Eric Brooks debuted in Tomb of Dracula Vol. 1 #10 in 1973. He was created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan in real life, and got his powers in the comics after being bitten by Morbius in the comics.
While many readers imagined Blade to look a certain way based on the numerous illustrators who worked on Blade comics, Wesley Snipes would bring the character to life in 1998. Snipes is recently mostly known for being sent to jail for tax evasion, but also has many acting credits under his belt.
Wesley Snipes was once married to April Dubois but their marriage only lasted for five years going from 1985 to 1990.
Today, Snipes is married to Nakyung Park and has been since 2003.
Wesley Snipes is probably the main money maker of the family, especially when he was avoiding taxes, but Nakyung Park is also a painter. Together they have four kids Akhenaten Kihwa, Iset Jua-T, Alimayu Moa-T, and Alaafia Jehu-T. Even though Snipes was imprisoned a few years into their marriage, Nakyung Park stuck by his side.
Jessica Alba
While she was once a Hollywood heartthrob, you will not find Jessica Alba in very many movies anymore. Jessica Alba starred in movies like Machete and Sin City, but one of her more famous, or infamous, roles is that of Sue Storm in the Fantastic Four movies.
Neither Fantastic Four or its sequel Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer were very good films, but if you compare the 2015 Fantastic Four, these two films look like Oscar-bait. In all seriousness, the films were not great and people often pick on Jessica Alba’s acting for it.
Around 2008, when The Love Guru wrecked Mike Myers' career, Jessica Alba married a man named Cash Warren. Warren is an American film producer so his work tied nicely with Alba’s lifestyle at the time. That same year the couple would welcome Honor Marie Warren into the world who is now nine years old. They would later have two more kids named Haven Gamer Warren in 2011 and Hayes Alba Warren in 2017.
The married couple seems to be going strong and, with Jessica Alba’s new billionaire businesswoman status, it should be easy to forget about her Invisible Woman days.
Sophie Turner
At the young age of 22, Sophie Turner has already made a name for herself in Hollywood. She began acting only seven years ago in 2011, but has been in some big hits since. Her first role came in 2011 as Sansa Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones.
While the show has carried her through her career, she snagged another big role in 2016 for X-Men: Apocalypse. In the continuing X-Men universe, Sophie Turner is playing Jean Grey who ultimately becomes the character Phoenix.
Phoenix is an extremely powerful entity which can manipulate matter and energy and has psionic, telepathy, and telekinetic abilities. The character is even getting her own movie called X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which will be coming out in 2019.
Thankfully her love life has been nothing like it was in Game of Thrones. Sophie Turner is engaged to Joe Jonas. Joe Jonas is one of the three members of the once band the Jonas Brothers who sang popular songs such as “Lovebug” and “S.O.S.”, and the lead singer of DNCE.
The couple spent little more than a year dating before getting engaged and they couldn’t seem happier.
They have been spotted on numerous occasions being romantic in public and they even adopted an adorable busy puppy named Porky Basquait.
Kirsten Dunst
While the entire cast for the newest version of Spider-Man is a lot younger than previous versions, there was a time when Kirsten Dunst played Mary Jane Watson.
Starring alongside James Franco and Tobey Maguire, Dunst would play the famous redhead in a total of three Spider-Man movies before the Sam Raimi’s fourth Spider-Man film was canceled.
Today, Zendaya plays Mary Jane, but Kirsten Dunst seems to have moved on from her Spider-Man days. Dunst has been in numerous projects since 2007 including the Oscar-nominated Hidden Figures and a film by Sofia Coppola called The Beguiled.
Dunst is currently engaged to Jesse Plemons, who appeared in 65 episodes of Friday Night Lights as Landry Clarke and thirteen episodes of Breaking Bad as Todd. The two were engaged in early 2017 and Dunst revealed that she was pregnant in January of 2018 during her photo shoot for Rodarte’s the Autumn/Winter 2018 cookbook called Women Who Inspire Us.
Kirsten Dunst gave birth to a healthy baby boy, making her and Plemons first-time parents. While talking with the magazine Marie Claire UK, Dunst explained that she had been working from a young age and she thinks it is the right time to settle down and have a few kids.
Patrick Stewart
Sir Patrick Stewart is widely known both in the United States and England. Having been born in 1940, Stewart has seen a lot of the highlights and horrific incidents of history. He started acting in the 60s and is still acting to this day.
Much like his life experiences, Stewart has had good and bad acting gigs. His experience has ranged from the successful Star Trek: The Next Generation all the way to the atrocious The Emoji Movie. Stewart has a wide range of acting experience but one of his most well-known roles is that of Professor X in the X-Men films.
First appearing in X-Men in 2000, Patrick Stewart has portrayed Professor Charles Xavier in seven X-Men movies including the Oscar-nominated Logan.
Despite often being mistaken by fans because of his close friendship with Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart is very much straight and has been married three times.
He was once married to Sheila Falconer for 24 years, Wendy Neuss for three years, and most recently to Sunny Ozell.
Stewart and Ozell have been married since 2013. Sunny Ozell is not as well known as Patrick Stewart but she also works in the entertainment industry, as a singer and songwriter.
Evan Peters
Evan Peters may be a bit younger than a lot of actors and actresses on this list, but his age has not gotten in the way of his acting.
Peters’ first acting gig was starring as Adam Sheppard in the 2004 film Clipping Adam, when he was seventeen-years-old. Like many up and coming actors, he appeared in dozens of TV shows for an episode or two including Monk, House, and The Office. 2010 was a good year for Peters as he appeared in Kick-Ass alongside Aaron-Taylor Johnson.
Appearing in Kick-Ass was not only good for the actor since it was well received, but also a funny coincidence since they would both later play versions of Quicksilver. While Aaron-Taylor Johnson would get to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Evan Peters version was executed much better and was one of the best parts of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Peters’ Quicksilver is still a recurring character in the X-Men franchise, and in real life the actor is dating Emma Roberts.
They have been on and off since 2012 and have given people plenty of celebrity drama.
Peters and Roberts shared the screen for American Horror Story seasons three and four and almost shared wedding bands but their engagement was broke off in 2015. The couple may be together for now, but if history repeats itself there is plenty of more drama in store.
Michael Fassbender
Some actors prefer to date women who are not famous while others hook up with women who are just as famous as them. Michael Fassbender had been in many TV shows and TV movies before 2006, but that year marked his feature film debut in Zack Snyder’s 300.
His career since then has been kind of a slow start, but eventually, Fassbender landed roles in films like Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards and Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class. This non-MCU film was the first of the prequel films, not including X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
In the film, Michael Fassbender plays Erik Lensherr, who later becomes Magneto. Fassbender portrays the younger version of Ian McKellan’s character, though both play excellent villains.
In December 2014, Michael Fassbender started dating the equally famous actress Alicia Vikander. The couple began dating while filming The Light Between Oceans and were later married in October 2017.
Vikander herself started to gain a lot of attention after she played the robot named Ava in Ex Machina. She even won an Oscar for her performance in The Danish Girl, which led to more popular roles in Hollywood. In 2016 she would play Heather Lee in Jason Bourne, and she starred as Lara Croft in the latest Tomb Raider adaptation earlier this year.
Miles Teller
Despite not having been nominated for any Academy Awards, Miles Teller has been in some incredible films and some mediocre ones. His feature film debut came in 2010 when he appeared alongside Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart in Rabbit Hole. He also played Willard in the less than perfect Footloose remake and party comedies like Project X and 21 and Over.
While only appearing in a few films before 2014, Teller was able to show the true extent of his acting ability in Whiplash. The film won three Oscars and was directed by Damien Chazelle who later went on to direct La La Land, yet Teller was snubbed when it came to Academy Awards.
2015 was rough for Teller since he starred as Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four reboot, but his reputation did not seem to be affected by the film.
Miles Teller had been dating Keleigh Sperry since 2013, but actually got engaged to her in 2017.
Sperry may not be that famous in the movie business, but the 25-year-old actress is quite known in the modeling business. Miles Teller proposed to the model during their African safari and seems to be managing his love life and his acting life both effectively.
James McAvoy
James McAvoy began acting at the young age of 16 but is now becoming a Hollywood A-Lister. Before his Marvel career, McAvoy had roles as Mr. Tumnus in The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and as Wesley in Wanted next to Angelina Jolie. James McAvoy also appeared in thirteen episodes of the original Shameless on the BBC, but his career definitely peaked in 2011.
James McAvoy plays the younger version of Professor X in the X-Men franchise. His character first appeared in X-Men: First Class in 2011. He would reprise the role in both of the sequels; X-Men: Days Of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse. While Marvel has been good to McAvoy, he also pleased fans with the secret Unbreakable sequel Split and the intense spy thriller Atomic Blonde.
While his career is exciting, to say the least, McAvoy is also dating Lisa Liberati. McAvoy had previously been married to actress Anne-Marie Duff for eleven years but divorced in 2017. Liberati May only have an acting credit for playing the “Bathroom Bimbo” in the 1995 film Species but she is also the personal assistant for M. Night Shyamalan.
