Cataloging every trick arrow utilized by both versions of Hawkeye in the MCU is a tricky task. There is some overlap between them, with a variety of arrows producing similar effects, such as electrical arrows for shorting out electronics and tasering flesh-and-blood adversaries. There are also explosive arrows capable of varying degrees of destruction, including the compact but deadly Rocket Arrow.
The trick arrows utilized by Clint Barton and Kate Bishop in the Disney+ show Hawkeye are a great equalizer. Both heroes who use the Hawkeye name need something to balance the scales, as they face enemies with superpowers that make the ability to fire projectiles with pinpoint accuracy seem pitiful by comparison. Despite this, both Clint and Kate have beat the odds facing stronger opponents and multiple foes thanks to the trick arrows in their quivers.
Stun Arrow
The specialized arrow used most frequently by Hawkeye is the stun arrow. These blunted arrows allow Hawkeye to inflict non-lethal damage on an enemy. Properly aimed at the head, Hawkeye can render an enemy unconscious or leave them dazed and confused.
Smoke Screen Arrow
Another commonly used trick arrow, this one generates a cloud of blinding smoke. Both Clint and Kate used this one to great effect in the MCU's Hawkeye show. Kate used the Smoke Screen Arrow to blind the members of the Tracksuit Mafia that were chasing her on the freeway. Clint Barton likewise used it to flush a sniper out of hiding.
Electric/EMP Arrow
Releasing an incapacitating shock on impact, the basic electric arrow functions like a taser. Hawkeye also employs an EMP variant which releases a charge that can disrupt electronics within a certain area. Clint most famously used these arrows during his battles with Vision in Captain America: Civil War.
Explosive/Rocket Arrow
The explosive arrow is another trick arrow that exists in forms of varying power, releasing a powerful outburst on impact. The most powerful variant is the rocket arrow, which the more powerful Hawkeye used to sacrifice himself while destroying an army of Ultron Sentries in Marvel's What If? episode 8, "What If... Ultron Won?"
USB Arrow
Although Kate questioned the usefulness of the USB Arrow in Hawkeye, Clint used it to shut down the computer systems on the SHIELD Helicarrier with a single shot in The Avengers. Black Widow was able to use it to similar effect in the reality of "What If... Ultron Won?" by using a USB arrow to upload Arnim Zola into Ultron's systems.
Burst Shot/Scattershot Arrow
First used by Clint to eliminate a group of Chitauri soldiers in The Avengers, the burst shot arrow releases a ring of secondary projectiles upon impact. The scattershot arrow works on the same principle but splits into multiple projectiles in midair. Clint most famously used the scattershot arrow in Captain America: Civil War to give Ant-Man the cover he needed to sneak into Iron Man's armor.
Incendiary Arrow
The incendiary arrow is similar in function to the explosive arrow. It contains a thermite chemical mixture that can melt through most metals. Clint most famously used this arrow to take out Loki's flying chariot in The Avengers.
Grappling Hook/Zip Line Arrow
Another trick arrow with multiple variants, the grappling hook arrow, allows Hawkeye to both reach great heights and slow falls with ease. Clint and Kate used a modified version of the grappling hook arrow in Hawkeye. It is deployed during the sequence in which they escape Maya "Echo" Lopez's apartment on a zip line.
Acid Arrow
The acid arrow releases a highly corrosive chemical on impact. One of several trick arrows designed for Hawkeye by Tony Stark, the acid arrow was most famously used by Kate to slow the pursuit of the Tracksuit Mafia by corroding a traffic light. She also used an acid arrow to bring down the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree to rescue Clint – a sequence which meant Clint's kill count broke Marvel's bloodiest record.
Net Arrow
The net arrow is another trick arrow originally designed by Stark. It releases a nylon mesh capable of ensnaring multiple hostiles. The Clint in the reality of "What If... Ultron Won?" had an electrified version capable of shorting out Ultron Sentries.
Pulse Arrow
Similar to the thunderstick weapon employed by SHIELD agents, the pulse arrow releases an energy wave in a 360-degree blast upon impact. This can be used to knock multiple targets unconscious. Clint Barton used the Pulse Arrow to neutralize the soldiers employed by Ulysses Klaue in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Mindwarp Arrow
The mind warp arrow is specially calibrated to render the target insensible. For example, utilizing the mind warp arrow, Hawkeye neutralized Scarlet Witch before she had a chance to use her powers on him in Age of Ultron. This distinguishes it from the basic electrical arrow, which can inflict serious physical damage.
Flare/Flashbang Arrow
The basic flare arrow produces a bright light that can be used for signaling allies or illuminating dark places. Clint utilized the flare arrow while making his escape from the Avengers Compound after Thanos' attack in Avengers: Endgame. The flashbang arrow is an offensive variant of the flare arrow and releases a blinding light upon impact. In the Hawkeye finale, the flashbang was one of many arrows Kate used while fighting multiple Tracksuit Mafia goons.
Force Field Arrow
Upon impact, the force field trick arrow releases several small discs in a circle. This then generates a force field within the area covered. The Clint of "What If... Ultron Won?" used this trick arrow to hold off a horde of Ultron Sentries while escaping from a HYDRA base in Siberia.
Putty Arrow
The putty trick arrow unleashes a gooey, tar-like substance, useful for gumming up machinery or slowing down pursuers. Kate used the Putty Arrow to obscure the windshield of one Tracksuit Mafia vehicle. She also used it to disable an alarm while breaking into Echo's apartment in Hawkeye.
Suction Cup/Plunger Arrow
Kate questioned the usefulness of this particular Hawkeye trick arrow, which is basically an oversized version of the suction cup-tipped arrows found in many children's archery play sets. The benefits of the plunger arrow became apparent later in Hawkeye when Clint used it to secure himself and Kate to the top of a moving train.
Onto-Grabber Arrow
Similar to the grappling hook arrow and zipline arrow, the onto-grabber arrow releases multiple high-tension cables upon impact. They then latch onto nearby objects and reel them in toward the arrow. Presumably created as a crowd control tool capable of snaring multiple opponents at the same time, Kate used this trick arrow to snare multiple Christmas trees in Hawkeye, creating an effective distraction while evading the Tracksuit Mafia.
Pym Particles Arrow
Possibly the most powerful trick arrow in Hawkeye's arsenal, the Pym particles arrow comes in two varieties. One trick arrow enlarges the target, whereas the other trick arrow makes things smaller. Clint used the first type to enlarge a regular arrow while fighting the Tracksuit Mafia. Not to be outdone, Kate used a shrinking arrow to take out one of the Tracksuit Mafia's trucks in the Hawkeye finale.
Sonic Arrow
The sonic trick arrow releases a three-beat blast of concussive force, capable of sending people flying and deafening small crowds. Kate used it to protect Clint from Echo and the new Black Widow Yelena Belova. Clint later used the same sonic arrow while fighting the Tracksuit Mafia in the Hawkeye finale.
Messenger Arrow
The messenger arrow is one of the few non-threatening trick areas. It features a hollow compartment, which can be used to discretely store small notes. Clint used this trick arrow to send a message to Echo in Hawkeye.
Airbag Arrow
Based on the same technology used in most modern cars, the airbag arrow expands into a large cushion on impact. While this could be used to absorb an impact, Kate used this trick arrow offensively while fighting the Tracksuit Mafia. She turned the airbag into a makeshift barricade to send them flying.
Freeze Arrow
The freeze arrow is filled with a chemical solution that causes an endothermic reaction when exposed to open air, freezing whatever it hits. Clint used this trick arrow against a member of the Tracksuit Mafia during the question-prompting Hawkeye finale.
Tranquilizer Arrow
Similar in design to the burst shot arrow, this trick arrow releases multiple needle-tipped projectiles in all directions upon impact. The tranquilizer arrow is specifically non-lethal, however, with each projectile releasing a powerful sedative capable of rendering an adult male unconscious in seconds.
Needle Arrow
Utilized alongside the tranquilizer arrow in the Hawkeye finale, the needle arrow is rather more dangerous. It also releases a circle of sharp projectiles upon impact, but its spikes are intentionally designed to cause pain rather than to knock multiple enemies out. Kate used this arrow during her final fight with the Tracksuit Mafia in the Hawkeye finale.
Drone Arrow
One of the more technically advanced trick arrows deployed in the Hawkeye finale, the drone arrow housed a remote control drone capable of binding an enemy's feet and pulling them aloft. It was one of the most fun arrows in the finale, as Clint's redemption arc concluded and gave Black Widow's Endgame death meaning. An unfortunate member of the Tracksuit Mafia fell victim to this arrow while fighting Kate.
Pepper Spray Arrow
One of the most effective crowd control devices to be found in Hawkeye's trick arrow arsenal, the pepper spray arrow, is similar to the smoke screen arrow. The key differences are the gas released by the Pepper Spray Arrow is orange rather than purple, and it acts as an irritant. Clint neutralized multiple members of the Tracksuit Mafia with this particular trick arrow.
