After multiple mini-teases, the full-length trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (a.k.a. Jurassic World 2, a.k.a. Jurassic Park 5) has finally been bestowed upon the masses, bringing with it an awful lot of terrifying dinosaurs. It's an exciting, apocalyptic sight, returning once more to Isla Nublar for what is very likely to be the last time - if the erupting volcano is any indication.Director J.A. Bayona has promised more dinosaurs than any movie in the series so far, which we assume means both a greater variety and a larger number of them. Scenes in the trailer go by so fast, it's easy to get lost among all those dinos.Related: Jurassic World 2 Trailer: Escape From Dino IslandLet's break down every species visible in the trailer. This page: Apatosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus Rex

Apatosaurus

Apatosaurus in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

This lumbering, gentle giant was one of the biggest dinosaurs to ever roam on land. It had an incredibly long neck and an even longer, whip-like tail. All told, it weighed in at around 35 tons.

The Apatosaurus was previously seen in Jurassic World, most notably in the scene where Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) find a field of dead dinosaurs that had been killed "for sport" by the genetically engineered Indominus Rex.

The presence of Apatosaurus in Fallen Kingdom probably doesn't mean much trouble for our heroes, since they were herbivores not prone to violence ” though they may have used those long tales to defend themselves or their young. That said, the footage in the trailer shows a stampede of multiple dinosaur species running away from an erupting volcano, and if swept up in that kind of mass movement, Apatosaurus might not even notice the teeny-tiny humans it steps on.

Triceratops

Triceratops in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

A popular favorite even among non-dinophiles, Triceratops is known for the huge, protective bone structure and three horns on its head ("ceratops" is Latin for "horn face"). These herbivores were relatively gentle, but if provoked wouldn't hesitate to defend themselves by ramming an enemy with those huge, bony spikes.

Triceratops have been part of this movie franchise all the way back to Jurassic Park, in which Doctors Grant, Sattler, and Malcolm encountered a young Triceratops that was sick. That dinosaur was realized as a life-sized, mechanical prop, but others in the series have been created with CGI.

All we know of Triceratops' appearance in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is a few brief glimpses of them in the trailer's stampede. Triceratops can run about 35 miles an hour, so you really don't want to find yourself in its path when it's good and riled up.

Stegosaurus

Stegosaurus in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

Known for the spiked ridge plates that line its back, Stegosaurus is another peaceful herbivore that nonetheless can do serious damage if provoked. Those plates are believed to have been used for defense; for offense, it would swing its multi-spiked tail (which, we kid you not, is called a "thagomizer"). These two features gave Stegosaurus a serious advantage in a fight. They also traveled in packs for protection. On the downside, Stegosaurus were painfully slow movers (think: cows), incapable of running.

Stegosaurus made its debut appearance in a Jurassic movie in the second film, The Lost World. There, they proved how dangerous they could be by attacking Dr. Sarah Harding after she accidentally frightened an infant. But unprovoked, they're a benign presence.

It should come as no surprise that Stegosaurus is returning for Fallen Kingdom. It's another fan-favorite that frankly, many viewers would be disappointed not to see in the movie. But of the few blink-and-you'll-miss-it shots it appeared in, the one where it was caged is the most memorable.

Tyrannosaurus Rex

Tyrannosaurus Rex in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

There's not a whole lot we can tell you about T-Rex that you don't already know. The king of all dinosaurs is one of the deadliest predators to ever live, and has featured prominently in every Jurassic movie to date. (Little known fact: the T-Rex that saves the day at the end of Jurassic World is the very same dinosaur that appeared in Jurassic Park! The one seen in the trailer and the photo above, looks an awful lot like the same one.)

Anytime T-Rex appears on film, it's the most dangerous thing on the screen and always a fan-favorite. That seemed to be challenged in Jurassic World, when Tyrannosaurus took on Indominus Rex, a much faster, meaner creature. But the T-Rex emerged triumphant, very nearly the hero of the story.

So it's no surprise that a T-Rex turns up again in Fallen Kingdom, but how it first appears is pretty shocking. It seems to be sedated inside a cargo container, where it's retrieved by Owen and Claire - who presumably want to find a way to save it from the volcano. Later, it turns up to save Owen and Claire from a hungry Carnotaurus. Whatever else the big creature gets up to, expect it to create plenty of carnage along the way.

Ankylosaurus in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

Ankylosaurus

Think "prehistoric turtle." Okay, that's not remotely accurate, but they kind of look like giant, spiky, heavily armored turtles. They also have big clubs on the end of their long tails, a perfect weapon for beating away hungry predators.

Ankylosaurus first entered the franchise with a brief glimpse of the creatures in Jurassic Park III, but audiences saw more of them in Jurassic World during the gyrosphere sequence. Interesting piece of trivia: the Ankylosaurus depicted in Jurassic World were not scientifically accurate. Real ones moved relatively slowly, like Stegosaurus, but the movie's dinos were (and still are, based on this trailer) able to run surprisingly fast. This could be explained in-universe as a genetic modification made by InGen's scientists.

It's unknown what role Ankylosaurus will play in Fallen Kingdom, if it gets much to do at all. But it was easily visible in the stampede running from the erupting volcano, so at the very least the Indominus Rex didn't kill all of them. The volcano might, though...

Pteranodon

One of the few winged dinosaurs known to have existed, the Pteranodon was a carnivore that primarily hunted and dined on fish. They flew (or maybe glided, scientists don't entirely agree on this point) on leathery, featherless wings.

Pteranodon was first introduced in Jurassic Park III, where a pack of them terrorized the Kirby family. It was even more of a menace in Jurassic World, where the park's entire population of Pteranodon (along with fellow flyers Dimorphodon) escaped their aviary enclosure. Flying free across the island, they brought down a helicopter and attacked both tourists and employees.

In the trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Pteranodon can be seen alongside many other species fleeing the erupting volcano. It seems likely that viewers can look forward to plenty of diving-and-snatching action from Pteranodon in the new film.

Gallimimus

Gallimimus in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

One of the fastest of all dinosaurs, it's estimated that Gallimimus could run at speeds up to 60 miles per hour. They had chicken-like bodies, but with small heads and long tails.

Gallimimus have been (briefly) seen in every Jurassic movie thus far, with the exception of the third film. They're depicted as mostly harmless creatures that eat insects and plants, but when running in groups, their sheer numbers can make them dangerous. They often make excellent prey for larger predators.

What role the Gallimimus has in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is anybody's guess, but it's never been integral to the franchise's plots. That's unlikely to change.

Compsognathus

Compsognathus in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

It's believed that these small, bird-like predators operated primarily in large packs. They hunted and scavenged for food, which usually consisted of much smaller creatures like insects. But they probably weren't afraid to attack a bigger target if doing so in larger numbers.

Compys made their debut in The Lost World, memorably attacking a little girl who's family was vacationing on the ocean but stopped for some beach time on Isla Sorna ” InGen's laboratory island. The critters later killed one of the film's villains. A pack of them were briefly seen in Jurassic Park III, but they sat out Jurassic World.

Compsognathus return in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, where humans are no doubt likely to once again underestimate them because of their size.

Baryonyx

Baryonyx in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

This unusually named predator bares similarities to the Spinosaurus that hunted humans in Jurassic Park III, and is in fact from the same family of dinosaurs, but it's much smaller. Still, real Baryonyx were bigger than Velociraptor at some 33 feet long, and every bit as lethal. It had a huge mouth full of teeth, and was most definitely a carnivore.

Baryonyx will debut in the series in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. In the trailer, it's seen traversing subterranean pipes and threatening Claire Dearing.

Velociraptor

Velociraptor in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

A Jurassic fixture from the very beginning, these human-sized dinos were vicious predators who could move at incredible speeds. Willing to attack any creature of any size, they were also one of the smartest dinosaurs of all, with larger brains than was the norm.

Velociraptor has a storied history in the Jurassic franchise, appearing in every movie in the series ” and always as a threat. From hunting Lex and Tim Murphy in Jurassic Park's famous kitchen sequence to retrieving stolen eggs from the Kirbys in JP3, their presence is always one of great importance. They most recently appeared in a four-pack "team" that was trained and led by Owen Grady in Jurassic World. The pack's leader, Blue, seemed to maintain a special bond with Owen.

So it's not that surprising that Blue shows up again in Fallen Kingdom, where his interactions with Owen, who's returned to the anarchic island after a few years away, should prove exciting.

Stygimoloch

Stygimoloch in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

Remember Pachycephalosaurus from The Lost World? These extremely hard-headed beasts were mostly seen in the game trail sequence near the beginning of the film, when Roland Tembo and his team were hunting a large number of dinosaurs.

Stygimoloch may or may not be the younger form of Pachycephalosaurus. Whether it is or not, it sports a similar dome-shaped, hard-boned head and a body of the same basic type. But it also has a series of spikes on the back of its head.

Stygimoloch makes its debut in Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom, but nothing is yet known about the part it will play. It could even appear alongside Pachycephalosaurus, but that remains to be seen.

Styracosaurus

Styracosaurus in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

Like its cousin Triceratops, Styracosaurus had a large frill over its head with multiple horns. This particular dino is distinguished by the curved horns atop its frill and one very big horn on its nose. Styracosaurus was an herbivore, and shared many other traits with its fellow ceratopsians, such as a beaked mouth and a proclivity for traveling in herds.

Styracosaurus has never before been seen in a Jurassic movie before, so Fallen Kingdom marks its premiere. Unfortunately, it sure looks like at least one of the horned beasts is doomed based on the last shot in the trailer, where a Styracosaurus plunges into the ocean to escape the massive volcanic eruption that threatens to destroy the island.

Carnotaurus

Carnotaurus in Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

This devilish fiend with the two big horns is a fairly well-known predator called Carnotaurus. Noteworthy for arms that are so tiny they might as well have been nonexistent, Carnotaurus had a huge mouth full of sharp teeth and powerful hind legs that probably helped propel it forward at high speeds. In case the trailer didn't make it clear, Carnotaurus was not as big as T-Rex, but still pretty darn huge.

Fallen Kingdom will be Carnotaurus' debut in the series, and based on the trailer, it's clear that this monster is on the hunt for the main characters. Fortunately for them, the T-Rex comes to their rescue once again. What is this, the third or fourth time the T-Rex has saved the humans?
