One of the most talked-about features included in Fortnite Season 6 is the crafting mechanic that allows players to build and implement weapons mods and upgrade them from Makeshift to either Primal or Mechanical. Fortnite has gone Primal for Season 6, and there is a wildness to the island and the in-game features that players have not experienced before. Now, rather than needing to find a good weapon at random for an ideal endgame loadout, players can make what they need instead. While the new crafting mechanic is not quite as robust as a true survival game like Rust or Valheim, it is surprisingly deep and can be complicated until players are familiar with how it works.

To craft and upgrade weapons during Fortnite Season 6, players will need to gather materials beyond the typical Wood, Brick, and Metal typically available in the popular Battle Royale. Materials like Animal Bones and Mechanical Parts can be found around the map, especially near wildlife and scrapyards. Chests have the chance to carry these crafting resources, and players can also get them from talking to one of the 46 new and returning NPCs scattered across the map. If players know what they want to make, they can specifically search for the right materials from the start of a match and craft their ideal weapon faster. Here's every crafting recipe currently available in Fortnite Season 6.

How To Craft Every Weapon in Fortnite Season 6

New Makeshift, Primal, and Mechanical weapons in Fortnite Season 6

Most weapons in Fortnite Season 6 have three variants: Makeshift, Primal, and Mechanical. However, there are also separate variants of some Primal and Mechanical weapons that include special properties, like making a toxic cloud or an explosion with major impact. These special variants require extra materials but can be extremely useful near the end of a match.

To craft a Primal or Mechanical weapon, players first need to find a Makeshift weapon. They will also need to collect Animal Bones or Mechanical Parts, usually four total for a single weapon upgrade.

Players can also use materials to upgrade a weapon from its Makeshift variety to a classic weapon, like a classic Revolver or Assault Rifle. These variants typically replace the Mechanical version.
