NBA 2k21 - PS5 & Xbox Series X|S Introduces 'The City' Exclusive

NBA 2K21 The City Next-Gen

When NBA 2K21 was first released in September of 2021, many fans felt that the game had fallen flat. There's only so much sports games can do outside of updating rosters and graphics to keep their fans happy. This has become most noticeable with recent installments in the Madden franchise as players feel like they're playing the same game every year. NBA 2K21 received (at the time) a next-gen update to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 and. With this update came 'The City.'

The City works similarly to how 'The Neighborhood' works in the original release of the game. However, The City is considerably larger (obviously). Players have far more areas to explore and discover.

To unlock The City, players will have to load-up MyCareer and progress through all tutorial steps. From there, they'll be able to access The City via the MyCareer menu. This will place them on the outdoor courts, where players will have to play pick-up games with others in the lobby. These games are all about raising one's MyRep level to gain full access to The City.
