By destroying ships, completing missions, and mining rocks players are able to acquire all kinds of different materials and resources. These can in turn be used to purchase new upgrades for the ship that will allow the player to defeat their enemies easier. One common resource that players will find themselves having to use quite often is Scrap Metal. This guide shows players how they are able to acquire Scrap Metal and what it is supposed to be used for.

Everspace 2: How to Get Scrap Metal

Scrap Metal is actually a pretty easy resource to acquire in the game, as it is by far one of the most common things in the game. It is the kind of material that players will a lot of the time just find floating in space on its own, typically near old shipwrecks. There are also hunks of ship debris that will float in the middle of space as well that the player will need to shoot at to break apart. This will allow them to collect these pieces of Scrap Metal to put in their inventory. All the player has to do is fly in close to wherever the Scrap Metal is and press the collect button to bring it inside the ship.

Once players have the Scrap Metal in their possession they are then able to use it to craft all manner of different things in the game. Scrap Metal tends to be the basic component for a large number of craftable objects in Everspace 2, so it is something that players will usually want to have on them whenever they can. Even one of the first missions in the game requires that the player gets their hands on some Scrap Metal to restore the power inside their home base, so its a good idea to start collecting as soon as possible.
