One of the first missions players will need to complete in Everspace 2 tasks them with finding and repairing three Distractors, devices that were meant to help hide the protagonist's base. Everspace 2 is an indie looter-shooter RPG that takes players on a fast-paced space adventure. After escaping the Outlaw base at the start of a new game, the player character and their cellmate and companion Dax Bashar will need to stay hidden and avoid recapture. Following the second main mission, From Scratch, they will receive the quest Edge of the Universe. They will be alerted that three of the signal Distractors Dax set up to hide his base, also called bean bags or Disruptors, no longer work and that they will need to go fix each one.

Players can find these Distractors in Union Bridge, Ceto Outer Rim, and Rhodia Orbit. The one at Rhodia Orbit is not particularly difficult to find, as there is a waypoint to mark its location, but it requires more repairs than either of the other two. In addition, Rhodia Orbit is a level 2 area full of enemy Outlaw ships, making it one of the first such areas players will encounter. Here's how to find and repair the Distractor at Rhodia Orbit in Everspace 2.

How to Find and Fix the Distractor at Rhodia Orbit in Everspace 2

Players can follow two projections showing where the Distractor antennae can be located in Rhodia Orbit in Everspace 2

Players will need to use their jump drive to leave Rhodia II and commence the Edge of the Universe quest. It is likely a good idea to start with the Union Bridge Distractor, then head for Ceto Outer Rim, and finally Rhodia Orbit.

Players can follow the waypoint to find the Distractor once they reach Rhodia Orbit. It is a fairly direct route that shouldn't cause any trouble. The trouble begins once players arrive at the device. Both antennae for the device are missing. A short cutscene will reveal their locations, so players will want to pay close attention.

After the cutscene ends, two new markers should appear, projecting the approximate locations of the missing antennae. Players will need to follow the lines until a marker appears with each antenna's exact location. They'll need to fly in close to pick them up, then fly back to the Distractor.

To install the antennae, players can simply fly close to the device until they snap into place. However, it is possible for one or both of these to drift into open space. Players won't be able to grab the antenna again if it does this and will instead need to leave the area and then re-enter. This should reset the antenna to its original location and allow the player to try again.

Rhodia Orbit is full of wrecks, debris, and asteroids that make it a good spot for looting. There are several containers here, often guarded by Outlaw enemies. It's worth stopping by to get the loot, but players should be careful when engaging enemies since this is a higher level area than they will likely be fully equipped for. Players can also search for Aetheum Crystals here, which Dax will need in order to complete the mission and move to the next one.
