HBO's Euphoria has had fans at the edge of their seats since the series premiere, but especially since season 2 began to air. Amidst a constantly chaotic storyline lives the dearly beloved main characters as well as the supporting cast, many of which have become fan-favorites.

Although fans see characters come and go in this rollercoaster series, almost every character has a storyline of their own and a personality that enthralls viewers. These characters may just be part of the supporting cast, but they gave off the energy of a main character with their style, bravado, and overwhelming emotions.

Suze

Suze is probably the most laid-back mother in the world. Some might call her oblivious, but having two daughters who are as polar opposite as Cassie and Lexi, confused might be a better word to describe her.

Suze serves as an example of a dynamic that many daughters wished they had with their mother in that she's the "cool mom." She's blatant and honest and that's what makes her so relatable. Her own storyline of raising the two girls, as well as her separation from Gus, are enough to make fans wish she was more of a central character on the show.

Lexi

Lexi's friendship with Rue is one of the biggest Euphoria season 1 plotlines that needs revisiting. Ins season 1, she was framed as Rue's abandoned childhood friend but Lexi's character has really begun to develop into this second season.

From putting on her play that essentially mirrors Cassie's messy life to her growing friendship with Fez, Lexi is blossoming into an interesting character who fans would love to see to get a role as a main character.

Gia

A sad Gia after seeing her crush with another girl in school in Euphoria

Being Rue's younger sister, Gia perfectly encapsulates the emotional rollercoaster one goes through when having a family member, especially a sibling, who struggles with addiction. Her compassion for Rue is one of the best things about her character but, with that being said, fans deserve more of Gia away from just her relationship with her sister. Her storylines thus far have centered solely around Rue's turmoil, not allowing for a full scope of her personality as a whole.

If Gia was allowed more space and on-screen scenes to show more of who she is, she would surely win the show even more die-hard fans. Gia is the perfect candidate for a main character role, with fans eager to learn more about her own life and how everything impacts her outside of her home space.

Elliot

Although a popular Euphoria fan theory on TikTok purports that Elliot is going to cover for Rue, there's a looming sense that his arrival in both her and Jules' life will cause more harm than good. He has so far been an enabler to Rue's drug use and has also edged the line of sexual tension with Rue; eventually crossing that line with Jules.

Elliot's personal life is kept rather vague and mysterious aside from the unnamed cousin that he lives with. As the series continues and his relationships with both Rue and Jules grow, Elliot could quickly creep up as one of the more cataclysmic and integral characters within the dynamic cast.

Laurie

Laurie in Euphoria season 2

Laurie was presented as a "mother-like" kingpin; well protected and feared yet with an uncomfortably calm and deadpan demeanor to her. She has quickly shown herself as one of the most diabolical characters to emerge on the show. After intentionally giving Rue morphine during her withdrawal and stating that Rue should consider prostitution to pay her back for the missing drugs, it became even clearer to viewers that Laurie is not to be messed with.

Laurie has been a very touch-and-go character within the second season so far but every scene she is in is intentionally blanketed with an air of danger and severity. Laurie may be a supporting character for now, but depending on how her relationship with Rue and potentially Fezco go, viewers could see much more of her.

Ashtray

Ashtray in Euphoria

Fezco's younger brother, or as Fez put it in one of Euphoria's funniest quotes, his "business partner," is one of the most hardcore characters to get introduced into the series. One of the youngest members of the series, he demonstrates a clear loyalty to Fez and their business arrangement of selling drugs. Although he isn't Fez's biological brother, they're as close as brothers could ever be.

He's proven that he would go to war for his brother and he's probably the only one who would. Ashtray is quiet, doesn't shy away from violence, and serves primarily as the "younger brother" role; however, his presence is loud when he enters a scene, giving him big main character energy.

Ali

Ali and Rue continue to have one of the best friendships in Euphoria; at least as good a friendship someone could have with their sponsor. What makes them work so well is Ali's own experience with addiction; hence their shared experience of getting and staying clean (or trying to on Rue's part).

Ali is crucial to Rue's story for being one of the only mentors to her and is probably the only person on the entire show who tells her exactly how it is. Going forward, Ali's own life could easily bleed into the series, pushing him more into a "main" character realm.

Fezco

Becoming more of a main character in season 2, fans find themselves needing more of Fez. Not only is there the abundant background history of his childhood and his grandma, but Fez is one of the most solid friends that Rue has. He's never judged her or treated her poorly, even when he caught her trying to steal drugs from his house.

With the blooming addition of Ashtray into the series, fans could make a solid argument that the brothers deserve their own spin-off and they surely carry enough content as characters for that to be possible.
