Euphoria season 3's filming start has been revealed. Premiered in 2019, the HBO drama follows the two-time Emmy winner Zendaya as Rue Bennett, a recovering drug addict, and her friends as they navigate the complexities of high school life. Since Euphoria season 2 ended in February 2022, there have been indications that season 3 won't start filming for a while, with creator, writer, and director Sam Levinson preoccupied with another HBO show, The Idol.

Now, Euphoria season 3's filming start has been revealed, and it's much sooner than expected. During a recent appearance on The Run-Through with Vogue podcast, the show's costume designer, Heidi Bivens, was asked when Euphoria season 3 starts filming, and she said it would happen in June. Read her full answer below:

"It starts shooting in June, so prep in May, so very, very soon... in Los Angeles."

What To Expect From Euphoria Season 3

Euphoria season 2 ended on multiple cliffhangers, including Fez and Ashtray being shot, Cal's arrest, and the fallout of Lexi's play. Instead of picking up directly in the aftermath of these events, the next season is expected to feature a time jump, as hinted by Rue's narration at the end of the season 2 finale. Bivens also recently confirmed there is talk of Euphoria season 3's time jump spanning five years with the characters no longer in high school, though the costume designer has yet to actually read any scripts.

Euphoria season 3's filming start should come as a big surprise following recent developments. Earlier this year, star Maude Apatow said season 3 wasn't scheduled to start shooting until the latter half of 2023. Reports about The Idol's troubled production also seemed to suggest that Euphoria season 3 would also be delayed as a result. Considering this new information, Euphoria season 3 could finish filming in time to meet its early 2024 release date as originally promised.
