Talk about season 2 of HBO's Euphoria has been all around the internet ever since the first episode of the newest season dropped a few weeks ago. Across all social media platforms, fans have been very vocal about their opinions on the way that the plot has developed in season 2.

It seems like there is a large consensus amongst fans when it comes to reacting to the larger moments of the season, and some well-circulated memes have perfectly captured the thoughts going through almost everyone's minds as they watch the drama unfold.

Laurie Knew Rue's Full Name?

There was a collective double-take when fans everywhere realized that Laurie used Rue's first and last name when Rue goes to visit her during episode 5. This wouldn't be so shocking if there were any reason for Laurie to know Rue's name--but there weren't. Laurie has only met Rue twice and Rue never used her full name.

Understandably, realization and fear about Laurie's capabilities and intentions started to sink in for fans, and they universally made the face seen in the above meme, which features several concerned ladies all staring straight down in intense worry. It may be a bizarre fan theory for this Euphoria season, but many think Laurie has a hidden agenda for Rue that she's been planning from the start.

The Show Is Doing The Opposite Of Glamorizing Drugs

Recently, Euphoria has come under fire and been accused of "glamorizing teen drug use." Although, within the fan base of the show, it's difficult to imagine that anyone would think the drug use featured on the show is glamorized at all--quite the opposite, in fact. Many fans consider the content a deterrent.

Rue has single-handedly ruined almost every relationship in her life because of her drug use. She has been near-comatose many times on the show, violently ill, and completely out of character by her own definition. Her life and any future healthy relationships depend on her sobriety and that message is not lost on fans, who poke fun that they think twice about even taking a generic OTC painkiller.

Fezco Is The Best

There are lots of reasons that some fans prefer Maddy and some think Cassie's actions are totally relatable--but there's one thing that the fan base as a whole has agreed upon: Fezco is a sweet angel. After all, he has the top bestie potential of the Euphoria cast. Even though the beloved character is a drug dealer, he has a reputation for being caring and sweet.

There is virtually no Fez hate amongst amid fans of the show, and they're not afraid to show it through many memes praising his kind nature. This one shares that, although the creator hates all men, that doesn't include Fezco.

Maddy And Cassie Being Relatable

As previously stated, there seem to be two ways of thinking when it comes to the drama between Cassie and Maddy. Some think of Maddy as a queen and Cassie as desperate and dishonest and some think Cassie is going through a lot and Maddy is just as toxic as she is.

Even though fans are divided, they do agree that there are aspects of each leading lady that are entirely relatable and they recognize that they can healthily identify with both, as evident in this meme depicting Maddy dancing happily while Cassie cries next to her.

Everyone Knew Exactly What Was Coming

Viewers everywhere were waiting for the moment when the secret of Cassie and Nate's hookups would be revealed. Nate has done some awful things so far, but sleeping with his ex's best friend makes the top of the list, and the same goes for Cassie. And when Rue looked a little too harshly at Cassie during her intervention, fans knew something was about to happen.

Steve Harvey's anticipating and breathless face in this meme properly articulates the way every fan's eyes immediately became wide in that moment and the way that they all knew that things were finally about to hit the fan.

Rue Made Her World Burn

The previous meme talked about how unglamorous Rue made drug addiction look, contrary to popular belief. While Rue was in her withdrawal and betrayed mindset, she proceeded to burn many bridges in her life with little to no regard for the consequences of her words and actions.

This meme, which is an edit of the classic version featuring a young girl smiling in front of a burning home, perfectly shows the destruction that everyone could see Rue leave in her wake, and the seemingly cavalier attitude she had about the entire thing.

Everyone Is Going Through It

Fans agree that Euphoria is a drama-filled show, but this season especially has seen characters going through some of the most heartbreaking things. There seems to be a complete mental breakdown in every episode and characters keeping it together don't appear to be able to do so for more than a few episodes at a time.

Between Cassie's near-constant crying, Rue's drug-fueled rage, Cal's painful past, and Lexi's quiet angst and anxiety, there isn't a single character who has had it easy in the episodes so far - and it doesn't look to be getting any easier in the near future.

The Season 2 Episodes Are Hard To Watch

Season 1 episodes, while dealing with some heavy content, had some party, carnival, and "falling in love" scenes to break up the heartache. Season 2 has no scenes of that kind. The episodes move from difficult topic to difficult topic, and fans all over knew from the preview that episode 5 was going to be especially hard to watch.

Instagram user @aprilaftrdark posted this meme of Zendaya reflecting many fans' feelings about episode 5 is a great way to describe the sentiment. With grim preparedness, even Zendaya knows that she's difficult to watch when things get particularly gritty on the show.

Things Are Going To Get Ugly Next Week

Fans may not have known exactly when the bombshell of Cassie's secret was going to be revealed, but they definitely knew that when it was, it wouldn't be long before Maddy decided that she was going to take her revenge. Many Redditors predicted that she would blackmail Nate after finding out, but it was pretty unanimous what would happen to Cassie.

Maddy, who has repeatedly been violent in the past, and even said that she was about to get violent during the intervention, will not be able to hold herself back for long. Fans have determined that a Maddy and Cassie physical or verbal showdown will undoubtedly take place in episode 6.

Rue Was Obviously Not Okay

Rue may not have always been the most stylish or vivacious of the characters on Euphoria, but even fans could recognize that Rue was looking worse and worse as season 2 progressed, and no one seemed to notice. She was disheveled and constantly looking out of it, yet nobody in her life thought anything was wrong.

Rue is chill by nature, but there is a difference between chill and "out of it," and Rue had definitely been the latter for almost the entirety of season 2. This meme, with Spongebob looking sickly and tired, is a great representation of what fans could see very clearly, but the characters couldn't.
