New set photos from Marvel's Eternals reveal the first look at Richard Madden's Ikaris. Once the dust settled on Phase 3, Marvel Studios confirmed the inclusion of Eternals in Phase 4 earlier this summer. Anticipation for the movie was building ahead of these announcements, though, thanks to the incredible ensemble that Marvel was reportedly looking to add, like Angelina Jolie and Salma Hayek.

Among the cast members confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con this summer was Madden as Ikaris. The former Game of Thrones star was previously linked to the movie as one of its lead characters. Like the rest of his castmates, Madden has been hard at work on Eternals for the last few weeks, but fans have yet to see him on set. Instead, photos focused on Angelina Jolie's blonde-haired Thena and the civilian attire of Gemma Chan's Sersi.

That has changed today, as new set photos shared on Twitter by @starlord624 do show Madden filming scenes for Eternals. Just like prior set photos, Ikaris is in normal human clothes. Where this scene takes place or what is happening is not yet clear, but it does appear to involve some stunts based on the wires attached to Madden and his possible stunt double shown in another.

Even though Madden isn't sporting the Eternals costumes previously shown in concept art, this scene could involve showing off some of Ikaris' superpowers. One of his many abilities is flight, so either a take-off or landing sequence could be what is happening here based on the wiring. What we do know, though, is that Ikaris has an affinity for denim in whatever year these scenes take place.

There may not be a lot of new reveals with these images themselves, but there is a similarity between them and the other batches of set photos: all of the Eternals characters are alone. So far, we've seen Thena, Sersi, and Ikaris (presumably all on Earth) by themselves. It's possible that director Chloé Zhao is filming scenes with individual characters currently as they wait for schedules to align. For instance, Jolie has been busy promoting Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, so the entire cast may not be together yet to film ensemble scenes.

But, this could also point to the story of Eternals too. Neil Gaiman's take on the Eternals featured them all with wiped memories of who they really are. Perhaps this is the same approach Eternals will take, with the Celestial-created beings having to find their way back to one another to save the universe. As production continues overseas, more photos from Eternals could soon appear - and hopefully some of multiple cast members together.
