New Eternals merchandise provides as new look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie's villains, the Deviants. The upcoming film is one of Marvel's most exciting Phase 4 projects. It will introduce a wider audience to the titular heroes, with Eternals' expansive cast including Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, and more. The film also promises to be an important component of Marvel's push for representation, featuring the MCU's first LGBTQ superhero in Brian Tyree Henry's Phastos.

Eternals will also mark a turning point for the wider franchise due to its timeline; MCU movies are typically set in the modern era, but the new film takes place over 7,000 years. Along with these other aspects of Eternals, there's a lot of excitement and mystery surrounding the film's villainous Deviants. In the comics, they're the evil counterparts to the Eternals, with both created by the Celestials. The Eternals movie will find the superhero team reuniting to protect the world from the Deviants. So far, little information has been revealed about the film's villains, though some LEGO toys did offer a peek at their character designs.

Now, thanks to some new Eternals t-shirts for sale at Kohl's, it's a little easier to imagine what the Deviants will look like on the big screen. The new merch, shared by ETERNALSnews on Twitter, shows the villains, as well as the Celestials. Check out the images below:

It's exciting to see a new look at Eternals' Deviants in particular, since Marvel has been pretty good about keeping their design a mystery. It looks like they'll fit in well with other alien creatures seen elsewhere in the MCU without being a retread of villains explored in the past. They look appropriately sinister and like they'll be formidable foes for the Eternals. The Celestials' design is bit more unusual, helping to set them apart from Eternals' other characters.

The movie's delay due to the coronavirus pandemic has put Marvel in a tough spot when it comes to merchandise like this. The intent was likely for these things to be released after Eternals so as to keep character designs mostly secret until the movie came out. However, one could argue the perhaps unplanned teases are worth it, as they've kept people talking about the film despite what will be a year-long wait. It's not an issue exclusive to Eternals, either, with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier merch similarly revealing looks at the characters ahead of its premiere. Hopefully, any other Eternals merchandise that debuts before its November 2021 release date increases anticipation for the movie without spoiling key plot points.
