Marvel unveils a new Eternals clip confirming that Kumail Nanjiani's Kingo is playing Richard Madden's Ikaris in the Bollywood movie-in-a-movie. Nanjiani stars in the film as the fame-hungry Eternal with the ability to project cosmic energy projectiles from his hands and has become a Bollywood star to blend in on Earth. Madden's Ikaris is considered one of the most powerful on the team with the ability to fly and project cosmic energy beams from his eyes and has a deep level of on-and-off romance with fellow Eternal Sersi.

Alongside Nanjiani and Madden, the ensemble cast for Eternals includes Gemma Chan, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Harish Patel, Kit Harrington, Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie. The film introduces the titular alien group to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having been created by the ancient Celestials and brought to Earth 7,000 years ago to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants. When the events of Avengers: Endgame sparks the mysterious event "The Emergence" and the return of the Deviants after thousands of years of absence, the Eternals must reunite after separating thousands of years earlier to once again protect humanity.

With just a few days remaining until the film's arrival in theaters, Marvel Studios has debuted a new Eternals clip. The video sees Nanjiani's Kingo visited by Ikaris, Sersi and Sprite on the set of his Bollywood movie-in-a-movie, where he reveals the title to be Legend of Ikaris and he is portraying his fellow immortal. Nanjiani's Kingo playing fellow Eternal Ikaris in the Bollywood movie-in-a-movie for Eternals was a possibility previously teased by Marvel Vice President of Production and Development Nate Moore during Screen Rant's visit to the set of the film in early 2020, where the producer hinted "he might be a big fan of Ikaris." The new Eternals clip certainly confirms this point and offers a better look at the comedic dynamic Nanjiani is bringing to his MCU debut as the fame-loving hero. Between his fast-talking preparation for the next scene to his revelation his manager tried to kill him in the past thinking him to be a vampire, the latest video establishes Kingo as one of the more comedic of the group.

The comedy of Eternals is something that has shined through in much of the film's marketing, namely with Oscar and Emmy nominee Nanjiani and his humorous moments in the film. It is interesting to note that Moore also revealed during Screen Rant's set visit that the film's tone would land somewhere between Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther and the latest clip does give a good indication of how it toes that line. Only time will tell how audiences respond to the comedy and drama of the film when Eternals hits theaters on Friday.
