Eternals star Brian Tyree Henry teased Phastos' powers in the highly anticipated upcoming MCU film. Marvel is itching to get their latest movies in theaters, and Eternals will be the third film from the studio to release in 2021. After both Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Black Widow were recently delayed, it seems like the MCU's final slate for 2021 has taken shape, and it looks like Eternals is sticking to its November release date.

Directed by Chloe Zhao, who is the current Oscar's frontrunner for her festival darling Nomadland, Eternals is quite possibly the most mysterious and most star-studded of the bunch. Henry is joined by Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, Kit Harrington, Gemma Chan, and Lauren Ridloff. Henry's Phastos will be the first gay superhero ever featured in an MCU film. He also might be one of the strongest.

Henry appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, and, naturally, the host brought up the MCU. Henry asked Clarkson who her go-to Marvel hero is, and she replied with Dr. Strange. Clarkson says this is because she loves his powers, prompting Henry to tease his Eternals character's abilities. Clarkson promises to reevaluate once she gets a good look at Phastos at the end of their exchange.

"Wait 'til you see my powers. They're... I don't want to give nothing away because, like I said, Marvel's standing right here, but..."

Phastos of the Eternals from Marvel comics

The Eternals have a shared set of powers fueled by the cosmic energy that is their life source. Still, each Eternal can also harness that cosmic energy to enhance their specific abilities. Phastos' include increased potency of his cosmic rays and his penchant for inventing new technology and weapons. When it premieres, Eternals will introduce a new race of beings, and, according to Henry, it's likely to change the course of the MCU forever.

No trailer for Eternals has been released yet, as Marvel is hesitant to start the promotional cycles for their upcoming films because of the consistent delays facing the industry. A look at action-figures for Eternals has given a peek into what each character will look like, but without seeing them in action, it's hard to pass any judgment. Zhao's distinct visual style and her penchant for filming with as little CGI as possible could mean Eternals is shaping up to be the MCU's most unique entry yet.
