Dane Whitman, played by Kit Harington, learns about the Eternals' powers and history in an official deleted scene from Eternals. The MCU film finally hit theaters in November of 2021, being one of the many movies to be affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Eternlas was directed by Chloé Zhao, who recently won the Best Director Award for her film Nomadlandbecoming the first woman of color to win the prestigious award. However, the 26th addition to the MCU was hit with a lot of criticism straightaway, receiving the lowest Rotten Tomatoes score of any MCU film. Despite the early criticism, many did enjoy what the film had to offer, eventually grossing over $300 million globally and being the 10th film of 2021 to do so.

Eternals starred an incredible cast of Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanijani, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Brian Tyree Henry and Lauren Ridloff. The film reveals that after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the Deviants, the Eternals' enemy since they arrived on Earth, evolved to become stronger through the event known as "The Emergence." The family then came out of hiding in order to protect the world again, explaining why they did not appear in Avengers: Endgame to help fight Thanos. Eternals arrives on Disney+ on January 12, just two months after it hit theaters.

In a recent upload by IGN, it was revealed that in an official deleted scene, Harington's Dane Whitman is given a history lesson on the Eternals by Lia McHugh's Sprite. The video reveals the Eternals' long history on Earth, with Sprite revealing that the artifacts in the museum are all familiar to the Eternals. It also shows Whitman's innocence when it comes to his girlfriend Sersi's (Gemma Chan) family, mistaking Sprite to be a child despite her being on Earth for centuries. Check out the video below:

Despite Phase Four being in its earliest stage, the introduction to the Eternals into the MCU has already revealed some of the future plans going forward. Other than the surprise appearance of Harry Styles as Thanos' brother Eros, the credits scene revealed the future role of Dane Whitman in the MCU. It was teased that Whitman would be taking on the role of his comics alias, The Black Knight, a similar role to Harington's most popular role as Game of Thrones favorite, Jon Snow. In addition, the credits scene also reveals a mysterious voice with him in the room, asking him if he is ready. Despite not revealing the identity, many were certain that the voice belonged to Mahershala Ali, who will be joining the MCU as famous vampire hunter, Blade.

It is an exciting time to be a Marvel fan with Phase Four already rolling out its new films and Disney+ series. Marvel movies made up 30% of the total 2021 box office, with hits such as Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals itself, and the most recent hit being Spider-Man: No Way Home. Indeed, Marvel fans will be spoiled this year as the MCU is set to release Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in theaters throughout 2022.
