Eternals star, Lia McHugh has revealed that the film's director, Chloé Zhao, organized for the cast to go and see Harry Styles in concert after they learned of his casting. The Marvel Cinematic Universe upped Phase 4's stakes with the release of 2021's Eternals, which features a plot that spans the course of around 7,000 years and sees the film's star-studded cast take on the incredibly powerful Celestials. While the film itself received a somewhat mixed response from audiences and critics alike, Eternals performed relatively well at the box office given the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on movie theatres, passing $400 million in total earnings.

Zhao's Eternals comprised of an instantly recognizable cast that included the likes of Gemma Chan, Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek and Richard Madden as the titular heroes. Arguably one of the biggest additions to the cast came in one of the film's exciting post-credits scenes, in which Styles was formally introduced in a cameo that many fans had speculated could be on the cards for months prior to the film's release. The short but exciting scene saw Styles make his MCU debut as Starfox, also known as Eros, the brother of Thanos, and certainly teased a very exciting future within the upcoming phases of the MCU.

Now McHugh, who plays the Eternal named Sprite, has shared that Zhao organized for the cast to go and see Harry Styles in concert in London. During an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, the young star shared that Zhao kept Styles' casting a secret right up until he was due to begin filming. The director then approached McHugh to ask if she would want to go to one of Styles' concerts with her, to which the star says she responded: "Is that even a question?!" McHugh then revealed that she then attended one of the singer's smaller shows in London, alongside a few of her Eternals co-stars. Check out the full quote below.

Exclusive: "I think she kept [Styles' casting] in her back pocket a little bit until it was time for him to come shoot, and then she told us. And one day she was like, "You wouldn't want to go to a Harry Styles concert with me, would you?" And I was like, "Is that even a question?!" It's funny. He had a smaller, private one in London and we got special seats up in a lounge. A few of the Eternals went and it was great."

Zhao recently revealed that Styles was the only person that she considered for the role of Eros, after having pitched the involvement of his character to Marvel president Kevin Feige on a number of occasions. In another recent interview, McHugh shared that Styles actually filmed another Starfox/Eros scene that was ultimately cut from the film, one that ran parallel to a scene that is included in the theatrical release, which sees the Eternals arriving on earth. Despite Styles only appearing in one short moment in Eternals, the internet went absolutely wild at his appearance, with many viewers beginning to speculate what it could ultimately mean for the future of the MCU.

Hearing that McHugh was already a fan of her new co-star and to hear that Styles' new cast mates were so keen to come out to support him is certainly heartwarming. With the film's final moments having teased the inevitable return of the Eternals (albeit in a currently unknown capacity), speculation is rife with various theories of just how and when audiences will see Styles and his fellow immortal beings turn up next. While Marvel looks set to make up for lost time with its packed schedule over the next couple of years, fans can hope that an update on the next Eternals movie isn't too far away.
