Did The Eric Andre Show really broadcast Seth Rogen’s cell phone number to the world? Ever since The Eric Andre Show premiered its first season on Adult Swim back in 2012, the show has become synonymous with surreal humor. Like a fever-induced nightmare version of an early 1990s public access talk show, the series is hosted by comedians Eric Andre and Hannibal Buress and features a mix of absurdist sketches, crazy man-on-the-street segments - that have resulted in Andre getting arrested on more than occasion - and incredibly awkward celebrity interviews.

Awkward as they are, those celebrity interviews produce some of The Eric Andre Show’s most memorable and hilariously bizarre moments. Part of what makes them so funny is that they’re the polar opposite of what talk show celebrity interviews usually are. Rather than fawning all over their guests, Andre and Buress do everything they can to make them feel uncomfortable and weirded out. For example, when Jersey Shore’s Pauly D appeared on the show Andre rubbed hot dogs on the perplexed reality TV star’s face and during Audrey Peeples’ interview the horrified Nashville star looked on as Andre urinated himself.

The season 3 premiere of The Eric Andre Show saw Seth Rogen become its latest willing victim. Alongside flashing the Sausage Party star and duping him into jumping through a flimsy set wall, Andre also displayed his cell phone number on the screen – much to Rogen’s horror. Yes, that was Rogen’s real phone number and yes, he got a lot of calls and texts from random people as a result. So much so, in fact, that he took to Twitter and pleaded with Eric Andre to “tell people to stop phoning me!!!!

To add insult to injury, Eric Andre appeared on an episode of Conan a couple of years later in which he and host Conan O’Brien proceeded to broadcast Seth Rogen’s cell phone number once again to the viewing public. Thankfully, it seemed like Rogen was in on the prank that time at least and has presumably changed his phone number since then.

Luckily, a fifth season is set to air on Adult Swim in late 2020 so fans can expect more outrageous and bizarre stunts from Eric Andre and Hannibal Buress in the not-too-distant future.
