Customers on the Epic Games Store are currently enjoying the second annual daily holiday giveaway, but the full list of games on offer seems to have already been leaked. Since its inception, the Epic Games Store has been offering free games to its customers on a regular basis. Most times of the year, players can check in every week for a new selection, with titles switching out on Thursdays. At specific times, the store may ramp up the pace, either by offering more than one game in a single week or through a holiday promotion like the one currently going on.

When players hear about free game giveaways, they often expect games that either didn't perform well or games made by companies they've never heard of. Epic's giveaways are typically of better quality than that, especially around the holidays. In last year's December giveaway and holiday sale, the storefront offered up critically acclaimed hits like Superhot and Celeste right alongside mainstream games like Hello Neighbor. In fact, all of the thirteen games on the list could likely be found in "Best Of" or "Hidden Gem" lists for their given releases years, and that trend mostly continues to the rumored list of games to be given away for the remainder of 2020.

Sent to Fortnite aficionado jovanmunja and posted on their Twitter account, the leaked list of Epic Games Store giveaway games features fifteen entries. The first three on the list, starting with Cities Skylines, have already come to pass, as the giveaway started on Thursday. The rest of the list is just mundane enough to be plausible, but that doesn't mean it's not full of fun surprises that are well worth playing.

One of the notable standouts from the leak is Stranded Deep, an island survival game that's ramping up for a full release after five years in Early Access on Steam. Another is Jurassic World: Evolution, a middling tycoon game set in the world of the rebooted film franchise by the Planet Coaster team at Frontier. There's also Alien: Isolation, the critically horror game that pits players against a lone intelligent Xenomorph. The full list of future titles (in order of availability) can be seen above, and it seems solidly legitimate - so far, the first four games have accurately come to pass, and it contains many of the usual suspects for this type of generous holiday offer.

As the Epic Games Store approaches its second anniversary and another generous season of giveaways, it's not clear if the company will continue showering consumers with free games heading into 2021. Most major games are now releasing on Steam and Epic at the same time, and the huge wave of paid Epic exclusivity has seemingly shrunk down to a trickle. Epic succeeded in making its storefront stand alongside Valve's juggernaut, providing competition that no one else could for over a decade. Now that the job is done, the free games may not be viewed as a necessary marketing expense any longer (though Epic surely has enough Fortnite money to foot the bill for another year of giving if it likes).
