GOG digital store will soon offer Epic Store exclusives for purchase thanks to a new feature launching in GOG Galaxy 2.0. Earlier this year, the service also introduced a revamped refund policy, which turned out to be exceptionally favorable for players.

GOG took refunds to a whole new level of decency by putting gamers and their comfort first. The service generously allows players to return bought games for up to 30 days after they were purchased. On top of that, the amount of time invested in such games doesn’t matter. Other services like Steam and Epic Store offer just a two-week-long period after purchases to refund them. Additionally, games shouldn’t be played for longer than just a couple of hours - otherwise, they lose their eligibility for a refund.

Now, GOG is making another competitive decision, which will likely strengthen the service’s position on the market attracting new customers. In an attempt to make the GOG Galaxy 2.0 application an even more sophisticated and user-friendly one, GOG will soon allow buying Epic Store exclusives directly from its own service. In that stance, GOG Galaxy serves as a unified platform for acquiring and storing games from two different PC distribution services. According to the announcement, the new feature rolls out through an invite-only method for selected users and will offer just a handful of manually picked Epic Store exclusives. It is worth noting that GOG Galaxy was initially based on the idea of integrating games from different places, but it was just focused on adding projects to a single library and staying in touch with friends on various other platforms. Now, the app is enabling a significantly more exciting feature of uniting digital stores.

For Epic, this might be an advantageous decision as the company will be able to reach a wider audience keeping profits to its own. Besides, Epic Store shares a generous approach towards its user base by offering amazing free games on a regular basis and launching enticing giveaways from time to time. Quite recently, the company has launched a campaign dedicated to Rocket League going free-to-play. Anyone who downloads the game through Epic Store will receive a $10 coupon to spend on purchases in the digital service.

The sheer idea of being able to purchase games from different stores through one single app is mind-blowing. For GOG Galaxy 2.0, this is just the first step, but this might be the future of the industry, especially considering how major publishers tend to create their own digital distribution services. Hopefully, GOG will embrace and succeed in potential negotiations with other companies, and in a few years from now, users will have the opportunity to browse the entire libraries of Steam, Uplay, Origin, etc. by simply launching GOG Galaxy.
