As he continues to hold out hope for the show to come back, Kevin Dillon has an idea for where Johnny Drama will be in a potential Entourage reboot. Dillon starred in the hit HBO comedy as Johnny "Drama" Chase, the older brother to Adrian Grenier's movie star Vincent Chase who was once a popular actor having led the fictional show Viking Quest in his younger years. While Vinnie navigates the complexities of the Hollywood industry, Drama tries his hardest to make it back into the spotlight, slowly getting better roles after starring in the fictional crime drama Five Towns from Edward Burns.

Based on Mark Wahlberg's own experiences as a young actor, Entourage ran for eight seasons on HBO, receiving generally positive reviews throughout its run for its behind-the-scenes look at the industry and the performances of its cast, namely Dillon as Drama and Jeremy Piven as Vincent's agent Ari Gold. The show's success would lead to HBO and Warner Bros. co-producing an Entourage film continuation, which hit theaters four years after the series finale and was a critical and commercial disappointment, only grossing $49 million against its reported $39 million budget. In spite of this, some fans of the show have held out hope for a proper Entourage reboot and one star is sharing their thoughts on where it could go.

While speaking exclusively with Screen Rant to discuss his upcoming thriller Hot Seat, Kevin Dillon opened up about a potential Entourage reboot. The actor confirmed he is still trying to convince creator Doug Ellin to find a way to bring the show back and shared his own pitch for Johnny Drama's story. See what Dillon said below:

"Well, right now I'm at Action Park Studios, where we shoot the Victory Pod, we're gonna do a Victory Podcast after I talk to you, Doug's in the other room with Kevin Connolly. Every time I see him, I throw it out there, I bring something up. I'd like to think if we were doing reboot, I'd like to think somehow he's struggling again, because I love a struggling Johnny Drama. If he's too successful, I don't know, I think I prefer to watch him fighting for everything. Yeah, he won the Golden Globe, but maybe his career, he's like in a hole and he's back to the old Drama stuff again. Then again, Doug Ellin might see it differently and, 'You're on top of the world.' I don't know, who knows, but I do love a struggling Drama."

Exodus (Entourage) Cropped

The majority of Entourage's eight seasons saw Dillon's Drama struggling to recapture the same level of fame he enjoyed in his Viking Quest days, which frequently earned the actor critical acclaim and garnered Dillon three Primetime Emmy and one Golden Globe nomination. Though he may not have won either statue in real life, Drama would find himself winning a Golden Globe in 2015's Entourage movie for his performance in Vinnie's fictional Hyde movie, seemingly catapulting him back on top for the future. While many fans of the show would likely be interested in seeing where success could take Drama within the world of the series, Dillon's pitch for his character to once again be struggling in a potential Entourage reboot is sure to be just as enticing.

Dillon has previously shared his thoughts on a potential Entourage reboot, having said in late 2020 that he was frequently discussing ideas to bring the show back with creator Doug Ellin while recording their Victory Podcast with fellow star Kevin Connolly. Ellin himself has confirmed interest in a potential Entourage reboot, expressing his confidence that it would happen one day in the future. While fans of the show hold out hope for it to come back, they can revisit all eight seasons of Entourage streaming on HBO Max now.
