On September 23, 2020, Enola Holmes was released on Netflix to a generally favorable reception, with many praising the writing, clever fourth wall breaks, and of course, the cast. The movie contains a fantastic cast, including the likes of Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, and Helena Bonham Carter, among many, many others.

These are big names, primarily because they have appeared in some big movies (and TV shows). Even the supporting cast has done some very strong and commendable work, so if one was a fan of Enola Holmes and its cast, then these movies should be the next on a watch later list.

Godzilla: King Of The Monsters (2019)

At the heart of Enola Holmes is obviously Enola Holmes herself, played by none other than the incredibly talented and popular Millie Bobby Brown. Brown made a name for herself on Stranger Things and has a very limited filmography. Besides Godzilla: King of the Monsters, her only other credited movie is a voice role in a 2018 film titled Spheres.

In 2019, she landed her first major movie role as Madison Russell in Godzilla: King of the Monsters opposite her fictional parents Kyle Chandler and Vera Farmiga. The movie earned mixed reviews, although many praised its incredible visual effects and action sequences.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015)

Henry Cavill in The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Unlike Millie Bobby Brown, her co-star Henry Cavill has enjoyed a long and storied career in film. While most people know his work as Superman in the DCEU, he was spectacular in a little movie called The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

This is an action spy film released in 2015 and directed by Guy Ritchie, the man behind famous "English gangster" films like Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. The film concerns Cavill's CIA agent teaming up with a KGB operative (played by Armie Hammer) to prevent nuclear catastrophe at the hands of a private criminal enterprise.

The Nightingale (2018)

Sam Claflin in The Nightingale

Playing Mycroft Holmes is a man named Sam Claflin, who is perhaps best known for his work in Peaky Blinders and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. In 2018, he starred in a brilliant but horrifying film called The Nightingale.

Directed by Jennifer Kent of The Babadook fame, The Nightingale follows a 19th-century woman seeking revenge against a British lieutenant who committed horrible atrocities against her and her family. Sam Claflin plays that British lieutenant - a man named Hawkins.

The Wings Of The Dove (1997)

Like Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter has a very long and incredibly popular filmography, with movies spanning from Oscar fare like The King's Speech to the Harry Potter films. And like Henry Cavill, her best work is arguably found in a little movie no one has even heard of - 1997's The Wings of the Dove.

This movie served as Carter's first Academy Award nomination (followed by The King's Speech in 2010). In fact, the movie earned a very respectable four Academy Award nominations, but it failed to win any. Carter ended up losing to Helen Hunt in As Good as It Gets.

Cemetery Junction (2010)

Linthorn was played by British actor Burn Gorman, who is widely known for his work in television. He has starred in the likes of Torchwood, Game of Thrones, Turn: Washington's Spies, and The Man in the High Castle.

However, he has also appeared in a string of solid films, including Cemetery Junction, in which he plays a character named Renwick. Cemetery Junction was written and directed by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant of The Office fame, although this coming-of-age story is far more serious, sweet, and melancholic.

The Big Sick (2017)

Adeel Akhtar plays Lestrade, the famous inspector who often works alongside Sherlock Holmes and who also first appeared in 1887's A Study in Scarlet. Akhtar is well known for the BBC Three's Murdered by My Father, for which he won the British Academy Television Award for Best Actor.

He also plays a character named Naveed Nanjiani in 2017's The Big Sick. This movie was a surprise hit, grossing a respectable $56 million on a $5 million budget and earning critical acclaim for its fresh approach to the long-dormant romantic comedy genre.

Mr. Holmes (2015)

In Enola Holmes, actress Hattie Morahan plays Lady Tewkesbury. Five years earlier, she starred in another Sherlock Holmes-inspired film - 2015's Mr. Holmes. This one isn't based on an Arthur Conan Doyle work, but a novel by Mitch Cullin titled A Slight Trick of the Mind.

It concerns an elderly and forgetful Sherlock Holmes, who is trying to recall the events of his last case. The case involved a man named Thomas Kelmot, who was concerned and curious about the behavior of his estranged wife. Morahan portrays his wife, Ann Kelmot.

While primarily known as Madame Maxime in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Frances de la Tour is actually a very well respected and decorated stage actress. She is the recipient of three Olivier awards - for her work in Duet for One, A Moon for the Misbegotten, and When She Danced.

She also appeared in Martin Scorsese's criminally underappreciated Hugo. She plays a character named Madame Emile. Despite scoring an incredible eleven Oscar nominations, the movie bombed at the box office, making just $185 million on a $170 million budget.

The Tree Of Life (2011)

Fiona Shaw is yet another actress appearing in both the Harry Potter films and Enola Holmes. In the former, she plays the wicked Aunt Petunia, and in the latter, Miss Harrison. She also appeared as Grandmother in Terrence Malick's highly ambitious The Tree of Life.

This is often hailed as one of the best and most challenging films of the 21st century, and it took home the coveted Palme d'Or at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. There are few film-related honors as high as that.

Valkyrie (2008)

Tom Cruise stands to attention in Valkyrie

English actor David Bamber has a small role in Enola Holmes, playing Sir Whimbrel Tewkesbury. Bamber's career spans back to the early '80s, and his filmography has included many respectable films and television programs. In 2008, he received the role of a lifetime, playing none other than Adolf Hitler in Valkyrie.

Directed by Bryan Singer, the movie details the true story of Hitler's assassination attempt and Operation Valkyrie. The movie received mixed reviews, but its incredible cast earned high praise.
