Millie Bobby Brown reprises her role as the clever young detective Enola Holmes in Netflix's Enola Holmes 2, which immerses the titular character in her second major case: a mystery involving disappearing girls from a factory. A follow-up to 2020's Enola Holmes, the sequel continues to build Enola's relationships with her older brother Sherlock (Henry Cavill), her mother Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter), and many others, while further establishing her as an expert sleuth in the league of her esteemed brother.

One of Hollywood's most promising young actors and a two-time Emmy nominee, Brown is best known for playing Eleven in the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. She also appeared in 2019's Godzilla: King of the Monsters and 2021's Godzilla vs. Kong. In her early acting days, Brown accumulated small roles in shows like Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, and NCIS. Directed by Harry Bradbeer, Enola Holmes 2 also stars David Thewlis, Louis Partridge, Susan Wokoma, Adeel Akhtar, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster. The Netflix films derive from author Nancy Springer's series of novels entitled The Enola Holmes Mysteries.

Millie Bobby Brown On Enola Holmes 2 And More

Screen Rant: I loved seeing Enola Holmes progress as a person and a detective over these two films. What was it like getting to continue Enola’s self-discovery journey, but also take on a bigger mission with her in the sequel?

Millie Bobby Brown: It was amazing to be able to step back into the boots of Enola and really feel the way she is again; finding her voice. Having the first film constantly just be about character building, now we can actually indulge in a case of hers. It was really exciting.

Just like in the first movie, you got to break the fourth wall quite a few times. Were these all scripted, or did you get to experiment and have fun with those moments a little more?

Millie Bobby Brown: Harry actually made me look at a camera on every scene that we ever filmed, and then in the edit room, he'll edit to which ones actually worked at what time.

Enola Holmes 2 Chase

Is a third Enola Holmes movie something you’d want to be part of? What kind of adventures would you hope to take on with her in the future?

Millie Bobby Brown: Yes, absolutely. I would love to be a part of another one. I would love to see her do more cases, be put under pressure, be put in crazy situations, make her feel vulnerable again. I absolutely love seeing her back at work.

I know you’re a big Taylor Swift fan. You've met her before, and your Stranger Things co-star Sadie Sink starred in a video of hers last year. How much are you enjoying the Midnights album right now, and could we ever see you appear in a Taylor Swift music video?

Millie Bobby Brown: Oh my goodness. You'd have to line up. No, I'm just kidding! [laughs] I was already in one. It was an at-home video. [laughs] I did my "All Too Well" 20 minute version this time. No, I absolutely love the Midnights album, and I love Taylor. I think that she is incredibly gifted. I've been listening to it on repeat, so she is unbelievable.

If you could pick one Taylor Swift album or song that perfectly describes Enola Holmes, what would it be?

Millie Bobby Brown: "The Man" on the Lover album. It explains itself really. If you actually watch the music video, it's Taylor dressed up as a man, and it's like what she would do if she was a man. I think Enola would love to be a man because she'd know that she could get further in life. I think it's a very good song.

Fresh off the triumph of solving her first case, Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) follows in the footsteps of her famous brother, Sherlock (Henry Cavill), and opens her own agency - only to find that life as a female detective-for-hire isn’t as easy as it seems. Resigned to accepting the cold realities of adulthood, she is about to close shop when a penniless matchstick girl offers Enola her first official job: to find her missing sister. But this case proves to be far more puzzling than expected, as Enola is thrown into a dangerous new world - from London’s sinister factories and colorful music halls, to the highest echelons of society and 221B Baker Street itself. As the sparks of a deadly conspiracy ignite, Enola must call upon the help of friends - and Sherlock himself - to unravel her mystery. The game, it seems, has found its feet again!
