Disenchanted star Yvette Nicole Brown has teased the possibility of Enchanted 3. The original Enchanted, which followed the animated princess Giselle (Amy Adams) emerging into real-life New York City and falling in love with cynical divorce lawyer Robert (Patrick Dempsey), came out in 2007 and didn't receive a sequel until this year's Disenchanted, which follows Giselle accidentally turning the suburb of Monroeville into a fairy tale kingdom. Brown plays Rosaleen, who along with Jayma Mays' Rose is a lacky for Malvina (Maya Rudolph), the queen bee mom who becomes a literal evil queen.

On her official Twitter account, Brown spent the morning replying to various comments about her role in Disenchanted. Two different fans posted their laments that she didn't get a song in the film, which featured new music by original songwriters Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. To one, she teased "maybe in the sequel to the sequel" and to the other she said that "Jayma and I will have our time when they make the next one." Check out both of her posts below.

Could Enchanted 3 Happen?

The possibility of an Enchanted 3 is difficult to gauge at this point. So far, Disney has not shared whether they have the intention of continuing the franchise, either theatrically or streaming on Disney+. The company is likely waiting to see what kind of viewership numbers come pouring in for the belated Enchanted sequel on the streaming service as families gather throughout the rest of the holiday season. Unfortunately, one potential stumbling block for a sequel could be the critical reception to Disenchanted, which currently holds a rotten score of 39 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a mixed rating of 50 on Metacritic.

The streaming numbers for the film so far have likewise been mixed. Since the film's debut on November 14, Disenchanted has remained in the Top 5 on the overall streaming charts across all platforms. However, it has never hit number one, a distinction that previous Disney+ releases have claimed, including the 2021 Pixar outing Luca. This is still a reasonably strong showing, but it's a middling release that will have to claim the amount of views necessary by bubbling under for longer rather than taking in a huge amount of viewers in one strong burst.

It seems likely that, should Disenchanted get a sequel, it would at least take less time than the second film took to come to fruition. Should it be another decade before Giselle continues her adventures, it seems more likely that the property would morph into a television miniseries like other franchise continuations on Disney+, including the upcoming legacy sequel series National Treasure: Edge of History. However, for the time being, fans will have to continue to wait with bated breath for any news.
