Most of the Madrigals get their problems taken care of in Encanto, but the film may leave out Julieta for a reason. The Madrigals are a complicated family in Encanto. In the movie, most family members get special powers, which they use to help their community. However, Mirabel Madrigal (Stephanie Beatriz) doesn't receive a supernatural gift during her childhood ceremony. The lack of a gift hurts her relationship with Abuela Alma (María Cecilia Botero). However, Mirabel's lack of powers also drives her to discover the real reason the house is falling apart in the film.

Encanto neatly solves the family's problems by the end of the movie. First, Abuela Alma and Mirabel learn that the rifts in the Madrigal family were the real reason the house was crumbling. The pair then lead construction on a new Madrigal house, and Mirabel brings the magic back to the family in the end. Additionally, Bruno (John Leguizamo) returns to his family. Though many of the Madrigal family members had problems with Bruno before he left to live in the house's walls, they all seem to welcome him back in the end.

While many Madrigals get their problems solved, there's a reason Julieta (Angie Cepeda) doesn't. Throughout Encanto, various Madrigals get time to shine. For instance, Pepa Madrigal (Carolina Gaitán) airs her grievances in "We Don't Talk About Bruno," and Luisa (Jessica Darrow) talks about the immense pressure she faces in "Surface Pressure." But Julieta, whose power is making food that can heal people, doesn't get the spotlight to do any healing herself. Though it's an odd omission, it may be because Julieta was the Madrigals' original perfect child.

Abuela Alma does things her way in the family's magical house. Julieta is the oldest of Abuela's triplets, and Alma likely thought of her as a perfect child, much like she does with Isabela (Dianne Gurrero) in the film. However, unlike Isabela, Julieta likely adhered to Abuela's plans. After all, Julieta's goal in the movie is simply to be nurturing and make sure everyone is fed, happy, and healthy. She's not looking to rock the boat like Mirabel or change things up like Isabela, who wants to break out of her perfect mold. If Abuela thought of Julieta as the perfect child, it'd also explain why there's so much pressure on Julieta's children. As a fan theory (via Twitter) points out, Julieta's kids, Mirabel, Isabela, and Luisa, would have pressure to live up to her.

Also, not showing Julieta's problems fits with her character. Julieta is constantly putting others ahead of herself as a nurturing figure. She's fixing people's broken bones one minute and being a shoulder for Mirabel in the next. Julieta still has problems like the other Madrigals. After all, Mirabel doesn't make it easy on her, as she leaves her mother in a frantic state after the house collapses. Julieta deserves time to voice her problems too. But, true to her nature, Julieta would probably want everyone else to do some healing before doing any of her own in Encanto.
