Netflix has released the first trailer for Emily in Paris season 2 and revealed its release date. Created by Sex and the City's Darren Star, Emily in Paris began airing on Netflix in October 2021. The show stars Lily Collins as the eponymous Emily Cooper, a US-born midwesterner who takes up a coveted social media strategist job at a French marketing firm called Savior. Emily has certain perceptions about her new life in a foreign city, but her Parisian dream is crushed after she realizes that she doesn't fit in with the culture in France. The show also stars  Ashley Park, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Camille Razat, William Abadie, and Bruno Gouery. In November 2020, Emily in Paris was renewed for season 2.

Production on Emily in Paris season 2 began in May 2021 after several delays posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The show filmed across several French cities like Paris and Saint-Tropez, before finally finishing up the shoot in July. During this time, Coronation Street actor Lucien Laviscount was added to the cast as Alfie, Emily's new love interest, while Abadie, who plays Antonie, was promoted to series regular. At the moment, details about Emily in Paris' upcoming second season are under wraps, but according to what Star has teased about season 2, the show will first deal with the mess from the season 1 finale, which saw Emily starting a relationship with Gabriel (Bravo) without Camille's knowledge. Emily's romance is expected to cause some friction between the pair of friends, but as the new trailer showcases, they will eventually resolve their differences. Antonie's promotion to series regular also spells trouble for Gabriel.

The trailer for Emily in Paris' season 2 is decidedly light-hearted with a pleasantly escapist vibe. Fans know that there is going to be a lot of drama in the new season, but that doesn't mean that the delightful fun, campy fashion, and frivolous energy would be, in any way, curbed. Season 1 was a visual gem and by the early looks of the second season, it can be counted on to be just as juicy. Additionally, a December 22 release date also favors the show, as it ensures that subscribers will have plenty of time to stream the series during Christmas holidays.
