As Emilia Clarke joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe through Secret Invasion, a new fan edit imagines Game of Thrones' Daenerys morphing into a Skrull for the Disney+ show. Nick Fury is finally going to lead his own Marvel Studios project after more than a decade of appearing in other characters' stories. With the new series on the way, many have already begun speculating about its plot and how it might tie into the larger MCU.

Marvel Studios continues to expand its TV footprint by producing exclusive content for Disney+ following the success of WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. As the coronavirus halted its movie releases, the MCU turned to the streaming platform to finally kick off Phase 4 following the Infinity Saga. Aside from Samuel L. Jackson reprising his Marvel role in Secret Invasion, Ben Mendelsohn will return as Talos the Skrull, who debuted in Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's Captain Marvel. There have also been reports claiming Kingsley Ben-Adir and Olivia Colman are set to join the TV show. More recently came the news Clarke is boarding Secret Invasion as well.

In light of this, digital artist ellejart decided to create a mash-up of Clarke's potential MCU character as a Skrull and her iconic Game of Thrones role as Daenerys. Using an image from the final episode of the HBO fantastical series, the live image shows the Mother of Dragons slowly transforming into the shape-shifting alien.

Ever since the Skrulls were introduced in Captain Marvel, many have been looking forward to seeing the Secret Invasion comic book story play out on the screen. That didn't seem to be directly set up by the Brie Larson-led film, as the aliens were deemed the good guys in the narrative, while their rivals, the Kree, were the villainous ones. However, that's all changing as more Skrulls are set to debut in the MCU, meaning some of them can be plotting something nefarious. For what it's worth, Fury has developed a strong working relationship with the green extraterrestrials, so much so that Talos monitored Peter Parker's adventures in Spider-Man: Far From Home while he worked on building S.W.O.R.D. from outer space. More recently, he even tapped the help of a shape-shifter as he reached out to Monica Rambeau on the heels of the events of WandaVision.

Secret Invasion is the next big property for Clarke following the end of Game of Thrones, which admittedly didn't conclude all too well. It was criticized for its rushed ending, as well as some of the creative decisions in the last two episodes. That includes Daenerys fully going Mad Queen and burning down King's Landing. Despite this, many are excited to see what's next for Clarke, including in the MCU. This fan edit should only increase enthusiasm for her debut.
