Elon Musk has shared his thoughts on the Tesla Bot in a recent article, suggesting the robot could eventually perform basic household tasks. Also called Optimus, the Tesla Bot has formed a significant part of Elon Musk's long-term plans for the world. Aside from building an automobile brand whose vehicles depend solely on electric power, Musk also focuses on space exploration and the development of computer-human brain fusion technologies. Dubbed Neuralink, this brain fusion innovation could be a game-changer in the MedTech industry.

The Tesla Bot has been in the news since August 2021 when Musk disclosed the technology towards the end of Tesla's AI day. Held yearly, the Tesla AI Day provides an opportunity to showcase the company's advancements in AI-driven technologies. Unsurprisingly, Musk chose that event to reveal the Bot. The Bot represents Tesla's next era of automation, with the ability to complete monotonous tasks being a selling point. These inventions seem to corroborate Musk's claim that Tesla is the leading AI company.

In an article published by China Cyberspace, Musk shares an interesting vision of technology serving as a bridge between the future and progress. Musk's essay touches on several areas of Tesla’s automation journey, providing helpful information about each venture and the expected benefits. Among the many topics the essay covers, the Tesla Bot comes off as significant. Musk discusses Tesla’s rationale for the robot’s humanoid design, revealing that since humans are accustomed to interacting with humanoid forms, it only made sense to base the Tesla Bot's structure on that fact. It also explains why the robot is expected to have human attributes upon release.

As part of efforts to make the robot blend into the human crowd, the Tesla Bot's height and weight are nearly identical to that of humans. Building on the resemblance to humans, Musk envisions that the Tesla Bot will be a huge hit with the public and millions of households will own one. Musk is so overly optimistic that he expects people may gift their parents a Tesla Bot in "less than a decade." Aside from its humanoid design, the robot is designed in a way that allows it to perform tasks that are considered boring and repetitive. By cooking, mowing lawns, and caring for the elderly, the world may be set to welcome an intelligent robot maid.

Additionally, Musk shares that Tesla will release a prototype before the end of this year, after which the company will focus on improving the robot's intelligence and figuring out how to mass produce it. Although it's been established that the Tesla Bot will have humanoid qualities to enable it to succeed in a world controlled by humans, critical details like the robot’s exact production date have been quite sketchy so far. Xiaomi has taken the first step by releasing a bi-pedal robot prototype called CyberOne, but the Tesla Bot may not be far behind.
